Hi guys,

will be joining this GB with a 1/48 Tamiya F-16C and it will be in the aggressor markings. Not quite sure it will be the brown or blue markings,

I will be using the Tamiya F-16C/N boxing.

Will have to finish a Kinetic F-16 first.

welcome aboard, nice choice there, we may see a few of these!

Actually this is the model I should have bought, this kit has all the parts to do most of the C series, you just need the Dragchute for the European F-16C's.

Well good luck with the build and look forward to seeing her in the gallery.

You certainly will, I'm just about to start my thread for the same kit.

Still not 100% as to which scheme to finish it in, we shall see.

Look forward to your build Lex, should be a good one.

gosh I haven't seen something like that for years! QC had a bad day that day.

If the worse comes to the worse it occurred in a relatively good place to repair it. Plank over the hole from the underside and a few thin layers on filler and it should disappear.

But they should replace that for you free of charge, that was always the great thing with Airfix!!

Anyone experience with replacement parts from Tamiya?

Where can I ask for them? Got a reply from the company who supplies the Dutch market but they aren't really helpfull.

G'day Lex, Have you tried the kit seller?

This may not help if you bought the kit at a swap meet, but if you bought from a model shop (even on-line) I would attempt to get the replacement part through them first. I have taken a kit back to the shop in the past and I was able to swap the kit without any hassle, but I had not started the kit yet.

cheers,

Pappy

that was real helpful of them!

I think in the long run it maybe easier to repair the hole. As mentioned earlier the position of it isn't too bad for repair work. Just laminate the inside with thin sheet plastic, fill the hole as best you can again with small bits of thin sheet plastic. Then 2 or 3 thin layers of filler, but mask the area around first to stop filler damage of the surrounding detail. A bit of careful sanding and you would know there was a hole there in the first place.

Thanks Rich but finally got a reaction.

They are going to replace te part but it has to be ordered in Japan and that could take up to 6 weeks.

But I got another Tamiya F-16 in the stash so will be using the part of that one for this build.
