1/48 Spitfires, I know that I'm a serial starter...

What breed is that big boy? We adopted this guy a about 18 months ago, from a shelter. He's a great fella (although apparently a runt at just over 100lbs) and has settled in nicely. But the Vets and dog folk here seem baffled at his origins. I'd never seen another like him until this thread.

Much Thanks,

Sirius is an Irish Wolfhound, I'm at the job now, once back home I could see the picture.

SWMBO is a dog specialist, so may be we can tell.

Sincerely.

We adopted one of our dogs last October, she had also been used for breeding and was just ' a dog ' with no character at all, and not in great condition. Now, with some love, a good diet and exercise she has become a completely different animal. I'm sure you will have noticed changes also.

Sorry, was there a Spitfire somewhere?

:rofl2::rofl2:

Oh sure it is !!

This one is gone to RFI

WP_20190806_23_18_45_Pro

But still there is a Mk IX, a PR XI and a .24.....

And since there are a LOT of Spitfires in the stash...

But I hesitate in carrying on with this thread or start a new one...

What do you think John ??

Hello John !

The smiley was for the Spitfire remark !

On the other hand, adopting dogs from breeders is oftenly sad but it's a great gesture.

Sirius is 5 years old, for such a massive dog it's already an old dog...

We had now to have a surgery for his knee... 1200€ in our face... But we cannot let him loosing one of his leg...

Breeders are USING dogs, not more than cattle for them !!

Now Sirius is only beginning to create a relation with us, but he feared when we had to go...

What's the breed of your dogs, let's see them !!

As requested a picture of our girls, they are all Golden Retrievers ( out 6th, 7th and 8th over 40 years ).

Dora (10 yrs) and Blanche (8yrs) on the bed, and Rosie (5yrs) standing. Blanche is the one who was adopted last year, I'll let you guess which one she is.

Hello John !

What a nice bunch of Goldies !!

I think and SWMBO agree that the adopted one is the one lying down

It's good but difficult to adopt old dogs, but the reward for them is great.

Oracle our late Boxer was rescued when he was 7 years old, the vet told us that he still could live for a year or two...

Then, with the BARF and a good life, he made 7 years with us. But at 14, the liver cancer finally win the battle.

Congrats John great pack indeed !!

Sorry, with all this talk about dogs I forgot to comment on the Spitfire.

The colour looks just right to me in the last photos. I remember watching a green Danish F-100 changing colour as it went from shadow to sunlight many years ago, the pink seems to react to light in the same way.

The stuka received its RLM 70...

Tomorrow, it will be masking for the white paint on the skyraider !!

WP_20190822_22_18_11_Pro

And I found it on FB....

Aï Caramba !! Now I know what to do with my early Jagdpanther !!

Hello Dears,

Just to balance my preceding post !!

A crab plane is progressing too !!

I don't know how I manage to loose all my fuel tank's cap on my Spitfire...:wall:

WP_20190823_22_32_37_Pro

So I developped a strategy to overcome this !!

First ! Inserting a bit of alu tubing in the hole...

WP_20190823_22_55_56_Pro

then, a bit of white stuff in it and call it done !!

Some engraving too with this helpfull tool from Eduard

Hello Dears,

I just hoped that I would have been free from these pesky yellow cutting edge bands in doing a post war Spitfire BUT !! No !!

WP_20190911_22_20_45_Pro WP_20190911_22_21_02_Pro

However the korean war stripes are in decals, I masked the location since I did'nt know the density of these decals..

I will not paint it this time on account of the serial number...

The mechanics still have some sens of humor !!

I don’t like the yellow leading edges either.I am about to try the decal supplied in the Hasegawa Mk IX on one of mine because I forgot to mask them off before I painted the camouflage!

John

Fully understand John !

I still have Tamiya yellow band in decals, I did'nt use it since it looked too dark to me ...

Then the plywood made Tamiya decals on a leading edge...🙄🙄

Well, I painted lots of bits and bobs !!

WP_20190912_21_11_12_Pro

Then the Airfix exhaust are not too bad once it has been holed up and painted....

WP_20190912_23_28_55_Pro

More to come soon, but I focused on my Rocs... Only 57 days left...

I must say that the rocs are boring me a bit !! That's why I did'nt like deadlines...

There must something in my (so called) brain that slow me down when there is a deadline...

And that is for every aspects of my life !!

Thanks for watching !!

Sincerely.
