Popular Post kiwitrogg
Hey all Righty-ho, I'm calling this one done and I'm glad to finally get it off the workbench. I think I started it in late July with only a minor break for the Albion refueller in October. This is the good old 1/48 Airfix kit with some parts of the Flightpath etch set thrown in, and of course the Buddy Store. I have a photo of this aircraft in this configuration which I think was taken at RAAF Pearce in 1967, and I used decals from Model alliance and the spares box. I know it's not 100% accurate but it's as close as I'm going to get it. I fiddled a lot with the wing fold mechanisms, and the pylon for the buddy store was made from thick plastic card. I admit that I rushed things towards the end so much that I've hardly even weathered it; I just wanted it finished. This is my second Buccaneer this year. Basically I got so enthusiastic when building the RAF one earlier that I decided to get myself another so that I could show the aircraft with wings both up and down. Of course, with a new tool on the horizon I had to crack on with this one else it might end up hidden in the dark corner of the stash along with some other obsolete mouldings. The main reason it's taken so long is purely having to concentrate on work and study, otherwise any problems were mostly of my own doing. I hope you like it. Comments good or bad welcome as usual. Cheers Gaz ps you'll notice that it's sporting the 'special' nosewheel cover........the flat bit is at the top ! pps Ok Tanmodel.........you can bring it out now Yes the engine and exhaust blanks are removeable.......I couldn't decide ! Builder
Mate, this is awesome! Well done on the canopy with the white trim. The details on the side of the wings is superb. The finish is perfect, really like the decals too. And that other one in camo is one awesome looking kit as well. Top job mate.
cngaero
That's one lovely looking Buccaneer in what I think was the most attractive colour scheme. You've made a cracking job from the old Airfix kit.

woody37
Stunning build and lovely scheme Never built a 48 Bucc, but hoping a newer kit comes available soon so I don't have to tackle the old Airfix kit!
Buzby061
A thing of beauty. You're a glutton for punishment, doing two. I've got mine Bucc shaped but returned it to the pending file when I filled the swear box up, It just growls at me now when I go near it.
