Trio of Spitfires in 1/72

Recommended Posts

Hi fellow modellers, my last three completions of the year. All made out of the box and painted with K4 acrilics.

All very enjoyable kits.

First the Airfix Spitfire Mk.22, decals, the only additions were the seatbelts and a PE instrument panel.

Second is the beautiful Eduard Spit Mk.IXc. A very complex kit for me, but, excellent and very detailed.

And third is the Academy Spitfire MK. XIVc. A very simple kit, thee fuselage is a it fat but it looks like a Spit to me. The decals come from the kit and are excellent, made by Cartograf.

I hope you like them. All comments and critics are welcomed.

Best regards and happy new year!

The 22 is my favourite – very nice indeed. And I like the fact that Airfix has moulded the prop blades as thin as is reasonably possible – they look very good!

Beating that poor old dead horse again – the cockpit hatch crowbar is bronze green or natural metal on wartime machines. ;-) Red crowbar is a modern safety requirement on warbirds…

Nice modelling!

Kind regards,

Joachim

Hi Ignacio,

your trio is very good and is screaming for you to build a fourth one!!!

Glad the Academy decals for the Spit XIV were excellent. I have an old issue of the same kit and even I can see the decals are booby trapped!

All three models look the part.

Congrats!!

Oooops!!! I really loved those in red...  But I´ll keep it in mind for the rest 50 Spits that I plan to build!!!

Thanks very much for the tip and constructive critics!

Best regards.

Ignacio
