Andy Moore
Well, I don't think I'm going to get anything else finished before the year runs out, so I'm going to officially call the tally at 18 (or 19, depending on how you look at it). Not as many as last year, and not as varied either, being mainly armour and Sci-Fi (or Star Wars, to be more precise). I've listed them by theme, rather than date built, but a lot of the builds overlapped anyway, as I seemed to spend most of the year with about 3 builds on the go at any one time, not necessarily to the benefit of the end result. Apologies for the random switching between white and black backgrounds. It's just down to which suits the subject better. Takom Mk.I Male 1/35 The year started with a bit of WWI heavy armour. Technically the build began on boxing day 2015, but the bulk of it was done in Jan this year. Lovely kit, and the included sponson trailer almost qualifies as a kit in it's own right, hence the separate photo Hobbyboss BTR-60 1/35 I'd had this one sitting in the stash for ages, so the build was more to get it out of the way than anything. Very nice kit though, but the full interior is a bit over the top, and I didn't bother with any of it. Full build here Takom AMX-13/90 1/35 Another Takom build (I seem to do a lot of them). Small and fiddly, especially the indi tracks, but the end result is nice Takom T-55 AMV 1/35 One of Takom's growing collection of T-55 varients. A great base kit if you want to do some mods, battle damage or extreme weathering Hobbyboss T-18 1/35 I picked this up when it first came out with the intention of doing it as a quick build. Somewhere along the way it acquired the base, figures and other odd and sods. Full build here Meng Leopard 2A7 1/35 Great kit. Lots of etch included, but it's not too finicky to get together, and it does make a difference to the finished thing Panda T-15 Armata 1/35 One of the most troublesome kits I've built in a while. Lots of flash, heavy mould lines and warped plastic. Instructions that bore no resemblance to the parts. PE that needed complex bending but had no engraved bend lines. Glad to get to the end of the build without stamping on it. Meng Kids Tu-2 Non-scale I usually manage to squeeze at least a couple of aircraft in each year, but this year all I got done was this one, and the next one from Tiger models. Both in the vein of Hasegawa's egg planes, but better and more detailed. The Meng kits only come with stickers, so I had to pinch some decals from an Eduard I-16. The Tiger 'cute planes' come with decals and stickers, and a basic cockpit, which the Meng kits also lack. Both great for a bit of fun modelling though Tiger La-7 Non-scale Mierce Miniatures Gurrir, Troll Warrior 28mm I love Mierce figures. Full of detail and personality. Gurrir has ample personality, especially when viewed from the rear. I'll spare the squeamish here, but if you really must then there's more shots here The rest of the years output was Star Wars dominated, for the most part from Bandai (I can well see next year being the same). I'll add links to the builds. Bandai X-Wing 1/72 Build here Bandai A-Wing 1/72 Bandai Star Destroyer 1/14,500 Build here Bandai Y-Wing 1/144 Build here Bandai First Order Stormtrooper 1/12 Build here Bandai BB-8 1/12 Build here JPG Productions Gonk & Mouse Nigel 1/12 build here Bandai B0-R15 (ex C-3PO) 1/12 build here So, that's it for this year. Roll on 2017 Merry Christmas and happy new year to all (God, that sounds cheesy) Andy

Portaler
Awesome yearbook Andy ! I must say after seeing your out of this world Snowspeeder I was hooked, so you can also tally me up as a new starter inspired by your excellent build and WIP guides. In fact I must say I have learnt so much from the WIP's ! Thank you for persevering with all the questions etc. I think the Gonk Droid and Nigel were my favourites. A green paint job and superb weathering just look so different and individual. Love it. From my point of view you can definitely keep the domination of Star Wars models :-) It's a great time to be a Star Wars fan at the moment, and their worn vehicles are certainly one of the main things I love about the universe. Looking forward to an inspirational 2017 !! Edited December 24, 2016 by Portaler
Richard E
A collection to be proud of Andy and one that I've enjoyed watching grow during the year. I'm not sure what I'm more impressed by, the undoubted quality of your pieces or the sheer quantity that you have produced this year. Bring on 2017.
