My FROG Avro Shackleton MR3 in my scratchbuilt paper card T2 hangar for a major service...............the elsan needs emptying............ I've been to Hal Far but did not notice the rails. I think they had rails into the T2s at St Eval too. cheers for that and welcome aboard, Adey
adey m
1/72 REVELL NORTHROP F-89J SCORPION A Northrop F-89J Scorpion interceptor taxies in. This aircraft is one of a number of F-89Js that retained the unguided rocket pods with their missile armament of two nuclear air to air Genie missiles. The aircraft also has fixed runway barrier activating hooks under the fuselage. The engine cooling vents are open. Revell 1/72 model from 1990 ish. The Scorpion was a BIG interceptor. Meatbox8
More fantastic stuff. The Scorpion looks terrific. Quite an evil looking beast I think. Love the night time shots. I'm glad I got my dirty mitts on the Basset re-pop as you've shown how good it can look. Also, really nice to see that early scheme on the Dominie. RAF Scarborough is having a busy day!

With the Scorpion I went my usual silver finish method and sprayed it with Halfords Aluminium car spray but was not happy with the uniform finish. So I brush painted areas of the airframe over the Aluminium with Humbrol Polished Aluminium and Humbrol Metalic Chrome and gave them a buffing with a soft cloth. I have never been confident with metal finishes but I surprised myself with the Scorpion. bye for now, Adey
adey m
I always like to include pilots in my model aircraft but sadly they have been absent from kits for a number of years. The crew of my Scorpion were pilots on the Monogram B36 Peacemaker who transferred onto the Scorpion and swopped their caps for bone domes..........

adey m
1/72 ITALERI FIAT BR20M Italeri Fiat BR20M built and painted by one of our model club members. Unfortunately he has changed sides and moved from aircraft to the salty beard and barnacled bottom brigade and now he models waterline warships on sea dioramas. I saved this model from a kit donations table when he fell out of love with it. I repainted parts of it and added extra detail such as the ventral gun.
