AIRCRAFT DIORAMAS AND AIRFIELD BUILDINGS, VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT

Recommended Posts

I do like that Beverley! I actually dug out my long stalled one (been in primer since a fortnight after it was released!) this week, & now your little cracker has given me the incentive to get on & finish it!

Lovely job again!

CIVIL AIRCRAFT DIORAMAS

resized_6521f98f-659f-4322-8cee-16de2a1a

I will start this Civil Aircraft Diorama section with a 1/144 scale diorama of a British Eagle Bristol Britannia that I saw at Scale Model World that means something personal to me. My father served in the Royal Air Force and we flew out to Singapore and back in British Eagle Britannias like this one.

You certainly have a wide selection of aircraft to display . . .  the Canberra has always been a favourite.

The refueller adds a very nice touch to the scene  . . . .

I ADORE Float planes and the Sunderland is a mighty  fine looking Aircraft.

thank you for sharing them.  just  nice to see something different other than just same old aircrafts ...

it's in a way a tribute to the forgotten airfields by what you did..Tremendous talent  Adey..

Great job Adey! I love how you can just mix and match any post war to modern aircraft to the layout and create a very realistic scene. The support vehicles and human elements add just that extra realism and helps in conveying the scale of an aircraft. I almost feel this should be a mandatory way to display models. :-)

Also great aircraft modelling! Finished to perfection and I can't believe how good the die cast models are!

Hoping to see more.

All the best.

Thank you very much Houston for your very encouraging comments.

My Sunderland contains very much a complete interior which is mostly scratch built and will appear as a WIP soon.

My passion too is boat-shaped aeroplanes with salty bottoms and I have other big boats to share with you.........keep watching.

Glad you also share my interest in aeroplanes that are other than grey..............

cheers matey,   Adey

Adey, Firstly MY like quotas is dashed for today.

I do share your interest in Aircrafts that are colorful  and gave in themselves their unique  history.

I know this is a BRITISH  forum but without offending the British I do get a tad fed up of sameness of the iconic Spitfire or the Tiger Moth or the whatever:  so to see British Aircrafts other than those in a Vignette/Diorama  in A setting such as your Airfield actually shows what they looked like in that environment  and how they  were stored or kept..

very ingenious  way of showing off your mastery at work.

I LOVE the Sunderland and look forward to your Work in Progress with baited breath.

where in UK  (if there is one )  can one see the Sunderland.

I ask as I have a Veteran friend of MINE  coming over for a DRAGON RAPIDE flight that he won from ME as his Christmas Raffle :and would love to take him to various RAF museums.

so any interests that you have and can impart to ME is always a pleasure to see.

Thank you for your OUTSTANDING way of showing off the Aircrafts... ..now you have to do USA airfields

Thanks again Houston for your very kind comments.

There are two Sunderlands on public display in the UK.

One is at Duxford.

And the most exciting one is at the RAF Museum at Hendon because you can actually go inside and walk the length of the interior.......I used this experience in my Sunderland build.

cheers, Adey
