mirageiv Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 (edited) Hi guys Here is my 2016 and the most productive year ever for me. As you can guess I like F-104s, especially Marineflieger jets 1/72 Models. Revell F-16A Block 1, the first F-16 delivered to the RDAF 1980 mocked up with inert weapons. Hasegawa F-104G, MFG2 circa mid eighties with chaff/flare mod. Revell Tornado IDS, MFG1 early eighties. 1/32 Models. 2 x Italeri MFG2 F-104G Starfighters, modelled as the Viking display team pair from the 1985 airshow season. A Hasegawa MFG2 F-104G Starfighter of the above Vikings display team, however in 1986 for the final few shows the pair adorned this, imho, beautiful scheme. This one is my favourite model I have ever made, eventually I will make the other jet from the pair, though not any time soon as it was by far the most work I've ever done on a model! Thank you for looking and a Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you all! David. Edited December 22, 2016 by mirageiv 15
Cookenbacher Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Your builds and photography are indiscernible from the real thing! Really looking forward to what 2017 brings from you David. 2
jrlx Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 I fully agree with Cookie: the models look too real. Very well done and congrats for the excellent results Cheers Jaime 1
DAG058 Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 I've really enjoyed watching your builds this year. What's your plans for 2017? 1
mirageiv Posted December 24, 2016 Author Posted December 24, 2016 Thank you guys, if they look sorta like the real thing I am chuffed! At the moment I am building an F-16A, not sure what I will do in future, signed up for plenty of GBs in 2017 (I know I can't do some of them now unfortunately as I'll be away from the bench) but expect more pointy Cold War jets . Hopefully I'll get around to doing that 1/32 Tornado IDS with the MW-1 dispenser in Lizard camo! cheers, David. 4
CliffB Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 I remember some of these so well. They are still some of my favourite builds of the year Cliff 1
abat Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 Like Cookenbacher said - I feel like I'm at the airport looking at the real thing. Fantastic work. The helmets perched on the cockpit and RBF tags rustling in the wind really top these off. Andrew 1
mirageiv Posted December 25, 2016 Author Posted December 25, 2016 Thank you Cliff and Andrew, much appreciated. Andrew yeah I quite like adding a few other little extras to builds that are totally clean, adds a little bit more interest Merry Christmas! David
modelling minion Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 Your F-104's and Tornado are amongst my modelling highlights of the year David, superb workmanship. It's your fault I'm in the F-16 STGB in January! I really look forward to seeing what you produce next year. Merry Christmas. Craig. 1
Gary West Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 Id be proud of that lot - excellent for a years builds David 1
mirageiv Posted December 26, 2016 Author Posted December 26, 2016 Thank you Craig and Gary! Craig I look forward to your F-16 and the F-16 GB, I guess it will be a rather exotic one Merry Christmas to the both of you. David.
