JackG
L3-35r Battalion HQ radio Command tank Libya, Summer 1940 Approximately 324 of these tankettes were available to the Italian Army at the beginning of hostilities in North Africa. Only HQ vehicles, though, would receive radio equipment. The loop antenna was the initial type, but would eventually be replaced by the standard vertical antenna, along with improved radios. The kit is one of Bronco's initial releases in the Italian tankette series, and was converted/upgraded to a radio version with a Brach Models resin kit. There were a few things scratch built, but most importantly the radio box inside the crew compartment. A WiP can be found in the Mediterranean GB section: regards, Jack Edited December 22, 2016 by JackG added photo

Bullbasket
A great model of a strange little tankette. And I like the folically challenged gentleman also. John.
FrancisGL
Very well finished, great figure and very nice composition.I had never seen a camo like that. The model for me, has a Steampunk touch, and makes you think, so you could serve, so small and so poorly armed ... JackG
Greetings HL-10, Keith, Ian, Reini78, John, Francis GL - thank you al for the positive comments. The colour scheme was derived at by viewing period photo, as well as literature on the subject. Actually, all my reference books suggest that the Italians were using some form of desert paint to better camouflage their vehicles in Africa. The photos to me though, show very dark colours, so went with those of 1939. Matadormodels appear to be the only ones to side with this, suggesting all tanks the British encountered during 1940 were either dark grey green or part of a scheme combined with brick-red. http://www.matadormodels.co.uk/tank_museum/xcamo_ww2italy.htm regards, Jack
