Saluti Giampiero Sud Aviation and Republic did a better job of lobbying at that time? AFAIK, fact is SMB.2 didn't use a MB of any kind until IAI fitted the Mk.6 on the Sa'ars for Honduras.

Bozothenutter
I wonder if they will do a separate set of tanks/weapons like they did in 1/72. Would love to see a Sparkit seat, and maybe some Quinta/Kelik stuff for the cockpit. Ooh, and a Reskit exhaust! Eduard gear doors and assorted small details. Would the Renaissance canopy fit? Bozothenutter
According to the comments on this post, there will be a pylons/stores set. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0itutUatqQZ5fTntEJM9U1vPpopu1hXMPCgw6djMMRMo4hpeqVL63gWYHY1AUKcRPl&id=100063693994097
Bozothenutter
Sparkit is not planning on making a seat, citing lack of references. 😔

The MB Mk. 6 was installed on the Sa'ars sold by Israel to Honduras. Bozothenutter
Anybody have the Renaissance PE sets, and compared them to the Fromm kit? It seems pretty basic/from another time, but stuff like the gear doors and plates for the wings look useful.

SharkOwl
Renowned Israeli modeller Yoav Efrati offers us a 1/48 Frrom & Special Hobby model of the Super Mystère SMB.2 ''Early'' No.31 in Israeli livery, in the soon to be released October 2023 issue of British magazine SAM - Scale Aircraft Modeling. 😎 SharkOwl For 7 photos of this model click on the following facebook link: https://www.facebook.com/SAMScaleAircraftModelling/posts/pfbid0271bEAya92F82DhCX8VuEPJTX48PGVBp8eA8rFtSMxuhDb2hv2M83GH9eqk52q3Qql Edited August 30 by SharkOwl

GiampieroSilvestri
Most probably Mirage IIIC as they had the same pylons and fuel tanks. Saluti Giampiero

They’re produced and ready. For whatever reasons 😉 Frrom (and Special Hobby) decided at the last minute not to include them with the current kit (likewise the green flash decal option) and release them as a separate kit (or release them in another version of the SMB2). Likely modeller Efrati got the not-yet released Israeli version from the manufacturer himself together with the wing stores for exposure on facebook. Just the usual marketing ploy of disguised publicity. Edited August 31 by quangster

quangster
FYI the decals for the green flash version deleted from the current boxing from FRROM newsletter. I couldn’t find the underwing tanks sprue shot. Sorry
Bozothenutter
Just asked Azur-Fromm... Very quick response, the gist of it below. The SMB2 sometimes flew without stores. They have no idea when the stores will be released, and I should ask Special Hobby..... A bit curt if you ask me.... Are we to assume from this Azur-Fromm are very much a minor partner in this project?
SharkOwl
By the way, Top Gun German Modeller Matthias Becker is presenting to us a beautifull 1/48 Special Hobby/Frrom Super Mystère SMB.2 coded 5-NJ of the ''Vendée'' Escadron at Orange-Caritat Air Base in the sixties ! The metallic paint rendition and weathering of this kit is near to reality ! 😎 SharkOwl 18 photos of this kit are presented right here on Brittmodeller's ''Ready For Inspection'' page : https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235129792-special-hobbyazur-new-148-super-mystère-b2/ Edited August 31 by SharkOwl
Bozothenutter
have a response from Special Hobby: "this kit was made for Azur Frrom, according to their specifications. We will release it under our own brand as well, with an additional sprue of small parts. The release is planned for this fall. It will be an Israeli version." curioser and curioser.... Laurent
1 hour ago, Bozothenutter said: curioser and curioser.... Hardly IMHO. Project management, CAD design, tooling design and injection is SH business. SH has zero subject expertise while Azur has it. In other words Azur acts as a consultant so it doesn't decide anything but SH does. Same thing as in the Tarangus-SH Viggen.
