Yes, sad indeed but what a life and what an age. He made a difference to this country which very few people can claim. We are lucky that people like him - and he was nothing but a lad really - had the guts to do what they did

Indeed Simon .  I saw him being interviewed and he talked about the strike mission on the day Bismarck was sunk.  It never went in and they circled as the Rodney and KG V had done the necessary but he was haunted and sad at the German sailors in the sea.  He lived in the next town from here as a boy. Funny that Eric Brown lived near here as a child too and we lost them both this year.

I don't think many service people relished seeing others in such situations and it is because Jock had to do such a job that two generations since have not had too, certainly on the scale of WWII.

Rest in peace Jock.
