LotusArenco
I’ve only just started making models again after six or so years and wanted a cheap and cheerful kit just to get me back into the swing of things. The little Airfix 1/72 Bf109 kit, just about to make a Kent farmer a bit cheesed off. The angle of the aircraft is a tad extreme, the original plan was to have it much higher up. Stability and practicality caused a change of plan. Mart

GREG DESTEC
Excellent build and in flight stand. How did you do the prop blur so convincingly? Fantastic model well presented. Good job. Cheers Greg

jean
Great model! I was just thinking that there was no way to pull out of such a dive at 15 feet altitude... Brilliant modelling! JR

occa
Looks great really, hard to believe it's 1/72 (It's only going to violently crash into the ground a fraction of a second later ... don' mind me, just being a smartass)

Knight_Flyer
Looks great and I like the whole setup. Yes angle is a bit steep, however if you were to build another with a Stuka - it will be just right
LotusArenco
Cheers everyone I was worried that after not making anything for years that I’d forgot how. There are a few schoolboy errors, but this was more a chance to blow the cobwebs off and get back into the hobby. Mart
BerndM
Excellent build and with the running propeller something really special. But the 109 will hit the base in 3-2-1-
Dave N
Excellent build of this great little kit. Goes together well, but not easy to make it look really convincing (as you have done) Very nice indeed.
Spitfire31
Oberleutnant Franz von Werra has every reason to feel apprehensive in that situation… Top of the line implementation of a great idea! Kind regards, Joachim

alxzinbox
That's a sharp looking build. Nice touch on the riveting and the motorized rotor. It brings it to life. Your little base is marvelous too!

Newbie(kinda)
My first thought? 'Excellent finish'. My second? 'How on earth has he managed to do that prop-blur?'. Fantastic! I assume the battery(ies) are in the based and the wires concealed in the support? Really like it...

Yup. This was my first idea. Gubbins out of a Poundland solar light. Chop off the LED, and wire in the motor. However the battery was too small to hold a decent charge for any length of time, I think I got about 30 seconds out of it! Plan B was to do a quick and dirty switch/resistor/battery setup (CR2032 3v jobby). The results of which are just too horrendous to show in public. The original intention was to have it about a foot high, but I saw that ending in disaster. More importantly, it wouldn’t fit on my display shelf. Knowing that Von Werra survived this crash unfortunately makes my little scene slightly unrealistic. I may pop it off the support and redo it more accurately. C’est la vie. Thanks again to everyone for the kind words. Mart Edited December 14, 2016 by LotusArenco
