Amazing that's one big lump of metal plastic.

Looking forward to seeing your usual artistry with the paint & weathering

Kev

Thanks Kev,

Glad it's not metal ;)

I'll be trying a different approach to the camo and weathering with HD Judy so if I plook it I will plook it big time :yikes:

Now it's when you see the size of the kit, it's a plastic monster, compared to the workbench ... if it's almost full ... your Mrs. must be "happy" ...:fight:

, cheers Julian :D

It is a plastic monster and no  Mrs. Gremlin56 is not exactly ecstatic about the size of HD Judy, she has taken to walking around mumbling "Stab him with HD Judy's barrel" or something like that. Quite worrying actually

8/4 update.

Tracks have been masked with plastic bags and then a coat of Vallejo grey acrylic ground has been put and let dry:

After the base coat dried I added the pre-shading:

This will be left to dry before I start with basic yellow layer of the "Ambush camo"

9/4 update.

Slowly building up the yellow layer of paint. Letting this dry until tomorrow when I'll add the final touches to the yellow. My order from Germany should arrive tomorrow as well so I'll be able to use the Panzer Putty for masking the finer details and masking tape for the bigger areas. Lots of pics here:

You have got your work cut out on the masking there Gremlin.

Nice see a cluttered work bench, it amazes me how you start off keeping it tidy and by halfway it`s a mess again.

It happens to me all the time LOL.

Which Spitfire are you building dear chap?

Masking is a big subject on this build  Simon ;)

What do you mean, cluttered workbench? This is like a finely tuned machine with everything in ergonomic reach and in the most logical place for my comfort when building :D

It's the Revell 1/32 Spitfire IIa which according to the Spitfire "Nomenclature" is a smelly heap of :poop::poop:because the oil cooler doesn't have the correct shape and the seat invites you add a flare holder (pyrotechnics Simon, not trousers :P). The propeller is completely naf too for some obscure reason. All in all bloody stupid of me to buy this thing that should really be binned but that I am going to use to check out Lifecolors new RAF BoB color set (it has a David Parker model on the box, gasp!, so the colors must be correct). Don't think I'll post any pics of this build online though because Edgar's ghost might come and dance the hornpipe around my bed as punishment for building such a knackered offering B)

You are getting terribly cynical in your Older Age Julian.

Perhaps we should request a new general fun section. The only requirement being that you actually enjoy what your doing.

Or perhaps post a be dammed!!

If they choose to ignore the health warning on the header for your post :bangin:  or :shoot:

Kev

PS Your brick is looking good, like the toned down primrose

Not the first time I have heard that Kev, probably qualify for a part in "Grumpy old men part III".

Toned down primrose? A movie? 50 shades of Buttercup? HD Judy does Dallas? (and Washington DC and Alaska and New York?) :D

Sure we're on part 30 by now.

I can get away with it now, allegedly steroids cause mood swings lol

A movie?

Specialist sector of the industry I would suggest.

A trifle large (obese )

Perhaps rename it 50 Stone, 317.514659 kilos in your language. :hmmm:doesn't have quite the same ring does it

Anyways I for one want to see your build of a Spit.

Steroids hey? I blame it all on a wonky prostate and accompanying lack of sleep coupled with arthritis and a couple of other odds and ends that up the daily total of pills that keep this lean, mean killing machine running (well, not lean, not really mean and apart from the ants that keep invading my shed I don't kill very much). I have less than fond memories of the pills to aid urinating that had me visit every garage toilet on the 56 kilometer run from home to work (took 1 and only one of those pills).

A blog of a wingie thing? I have fond memories of all the kindly IPMS members who gave kind advice (B**t**DS) on previous wingie builds, of course not referring to the friendly few who did give good advice. I would rather stick kebab skewers in my dingle dangles than provide that sort of entertainment again :D:P:penguin:

And too life the model comes :clap2:great start to the process Julian,

I know what you mean regarding a wonky prostate, I've had for 21/2 years where I would get up three or was it four times a night took five kinds of pills, then sometimes you would go and then you stand there for ages (well it feels like it) and nothing happens, well last year the Doc says have you had enough of this, I can make you piddle like a 14 year old :hypnotised:  so Last November I went and had a good reaming out :owww:  :yikes: that was not fun, but guess what I can piddle like a 14 year old :yahoo::yahoo:

Heck Richard ,

that sounds like torture, makes my eyes water just thinking about it :worry:

Think I'll stick to the pills for as long as possible before trying these measures..................................................

Kev

Yeah, where are the days that I was a bronzed young god on the bridge of a ship etc.

Long gone buddy and counting pills is a lot easier than keep multiple conquests happy, sheesh, a friend of mine is past 70 and he's glad nowadays if they are warm, go figure ;)

P.s. this started with you going to request a general fun section and after that we talked and wrote for hours about wonky prostates, how does this work? :speechless:

My order from Germany arrived btw, the Panzer Putty looks like "the Blob that conquered the Earth" sitting in it's tin. I turned it over and it is now slowly making the fingerprints disappear and is taking on the shape of the tin bottom again.........weird stuff.

Stainless Steel Paint Mixers eh, looks like a load of balls to me Gremlin.

How much putty can one buy, more than enough , it happens to me, I just cannot resist it at times.

Simon.

Yes, well, probably are ball bearings, let's me think I am thwarting the German war effort :P

Putty is always a stop-gap measure as you probably already know B);)

The black Panzer putty is really scary, it has reformed on the bottom of the tin and is slowly leveling out, all fingerprints and the hole I poked in it have disappeared, hope it doesn't attack me tonight when I am sleeping :undecided::shocked:
