Nice, I'm working on a SBD flown during the attack by Lt Dickerson & RM1 Miller off the Enterprise that I was hoping to have done by today.  But alas I came up a little bit short.

Excellent model, and a little back story is always very welcome IMHO (I am an ever-continuing student of history).

I have the 1/72 kit partly built and these circa '42 colours and markings have inspired me to get similar decals, from the aftermarket, for my model.

:thanks:

Really nice job there Steve.

Build, paint and overall finish just superb.

The subject is quite an iconic aircraft that's for sure.

Just to add another element my sisters birthday is Dec 7th........infamy indeed! B)

Very tidy job Steve, the finish on it is lovely. Did you varnish it? if so what did you use?

Cheers

John

Many thank's John,I use Humbrol gloss coat before decal's and wash brushed on then spray their Matt coat thinned with white spirit

for the final coat it dries with a slight sheen rather than 100% matt.

"Infamy, infamy, they've all got it in for me..."

As somebody once said... ^_^

Lovely crisp model. I'm intending to do the 1/72 version in the same markings.

Lovely build of a very sharp looking fighter. Somehow, the later versions look too long and too bulky. You won't find me mentioning religious order headgear...but there seems to be a great deal of debate around the camo demarcation; to sweep the underside grey up at the tail. Or not? I'm assuming it's aircraft specific ('cos you know I'll go with the easy 'straight' option if I can get away with it)...??

I looked at photo's and both types of demarcation show up on aircraft on the island at the time of the attack so no one can say for definite

whats right or wrong!

Really nice looking P-40 with a great finish.  I read somewhere that there were lots of issues with this kit but it looks great to me (beautifully rendered, of course).

Very classy build there Steve and a great presentation...I like the amount of sheen you've got on your finish coat- looks very "to scale"...  thinks I'll have to add this one to the stash!

                                               cheers, Dave
