Ciao You're welcome Sir !! The Tamiya one is THE best kit of early Corsair, except the engine, I always replace it by an Aires one !! Oh and the front wheel well door, but it is almost relevant... Some panels are not in the right place but once again.... It is my Corsair mania... And my lunacy... Which one do you have ?? Birdcage ?? VF-17 never get in combat zone with the bird cage, Tamiya is completely wrong with that.. And.... OK, I get my coat... Sincerely. CC

corsaircorp
Hello Dears, Well, The first time one build a kit, it's always a discovery... I was eager to create a ducting in the cowling, but not knowing how the fit is .... Time to create it now !! Just a little bit more difficult, Soo, What's not to love ?? I seriously cannot let these holes open on the engine... Next week, I will cast some resin parts, well, it was the time for a Corsair build assesment... from left Port to right starboard, first row F4U-5N (HB) and Corsair Mk II (otaki) Second row F4U-5P (Hasegawa) F4U-4 (Academy, the blue one) and F4U-5N (Minicraft) Third row F4U-1a (Tamiya) and XF4U-1 (Hobbycraft) Not too bad.... Now, a good point for Hase since the trim tab actuator is right !! And here is why, J.T. Blackburn nicknamed His Corsair "Big Hog" The first oleo struts create a real bouncing followed by an heavy slamming crash on the deck... And VF-17 did a great deal of testing to improve the carrier suitability of the bent wing bird !! Okay Gents !! Tomorrow (in 4 hours) I'll wake up and go to work... One last word And yes, I wear by FAA poppy !! Sincerely. CC

corsaircorp
Hello Dears !! Wiring added to the switchbox... And here's where the beast is !! Almost complete !! I crack on to finish her !! Bulkhead or ducting is added in the cowling ! And NO !! the guns on the port wing are right !! When I saw this on the pic, I rushed to the cabinet and Phew !! everything is right !! Here's another one for @giemme Here's the difference between -1 and -5 for the cockpit -1, -2 and presumably -3 have'nt any floor but have a seat hung on the bulkhead.. -4 and following have a complete cockpit as we understand it... If a pilot drop his beer, he can pick it up... And engines... Port is -4's engine, middle, the Tamiya crankcase offering and starboard the Aires one !! Hope it help !! Meanwhile, I rectify the Minicraft cockpit... Not deep enough, just as are the wheel wells More Corsairities soon !! I'm a poor lonesome CC, I've a long long way to go...🎶 Memsa has took this pic of Sirius and me... Sirius wear his own green harness... Of course !! Knowing that I'm almost 6ft tall.... Well, Gents !! See you soon !! Sincerely. CC 5

Did'nt have this box yet, Please spad, open the box and have a look at the folding parts of the wings... The -5 serie and the AU-1 have all metallic wings. There should not be any fabric covered panels... Tell me that HB have rectified their kits... Otherwise, it's a good kit, actuator of the rudder trim tab must be modified, Easy peasy if you do it BEFORE gluing the rudder... Gues how I know it ?? The Box art depict the one I'm doing now seemingly.. Thanks for that John !! Sincerely. CC

I’ll follow your fixes for when it’s time to build. 👏👏👏🤩 Hello Spad !! RATS !! They should have corrected the wings since the first issue of the -5.... Now, May be cutting the fabric panels and replacing it with plasticard ??? But having the right curvature will not be an easy task... still pondering a way to sort it more easily than putty multi layers ???? And it mean that when they will issue their AU-1, we will be facing the same problem.... I hope I will... Sadly, these huge dogs did'nt last long, Sirius is almost 7 years old... Making him a senior... (live expectancy is 6 to 8 years for the Irish Wolfhound) And he suffered a lot with the previous owner, He was the stallion of a breeder and his back is in very bad shape... Chiropractor every months, now, he is a retired old chap, enjoying short walks in the woods. 1 hour ago, giemme said: Nice fix, CC Ciao Thanks Giorgio, Now creating a complete cockpit for the Minicraft and rectifying the Hasegawa one !! corsaircorp
Hello Dears !! I modified the gunsight too since the -5 has an upgraded gunsight... Adding a fine slice of sprue on the side... Wiring is done for the switchbox and I started masking !! Yummy !! And I paintred the edges of the windshield ...
