Hi there !!

Instead of simply using the transfers, I elected to create the patches...

And I'll paint it as per the original one...

Amazingly, these impacts has not been made by a japanese fighter.....

Teasing...

Sincerely.

Way to go, Alain!

Now, pray tell, where are the patches coming from? :D

Ciao

The patches come from sticky aluminium foil, used in heating systems.

I will also use it for armour or reinforcement plates... One the Russian 'Cobra as an example.

Now the holes came in a vicious dogfight over Rabaul...

J.T Blackburn was after a Ki 61 and he got out from a cloud, an over enthusiastic Rog Hedrick fire a burst....

On his skipper's Corsair....

Hooooops.... By luck not too much damages...

Sincerely.

Nice work Cousin, I do know they did them in White metal once upon a time. I have one in my stash that was bought 20+ years ago. I believe the company was “War Eagle” ?

Hello Dears,

You both know that I cannot stay away from my twisted wings birds for too long....

On the late Corsairs front, we were there...

A F4U-4 from Academy and a F4U-5 from Minicraft.....

Upgrading old kits is my game too....

But now, I missed my templates, since I finished both the Trumpeter ones....

Time for opening some old boxes....

IMG_20220410_221651 IMG_20220410_221639

I started to correct the lenght of the -5 and it is spot on... See...

IMG_20220410_232022 IMG_20220410_232054

Then, I still have 2 early to be finshed....

More to come soon !!

Bantering is open again !!

See you soon;

Well, I must finish a Corsair this year... But which one ???

I started to engrave the Hasegawa -4

And the Minicraft one is almost good...

IMG_20220621_231652

The Minicraft -5 is now rectified both in lenght and the hump shape....

Then, I still have 2 Earlies almost at the same point in their respectives builds....

Crack on CC, the days are shrinking from now on....

Time to work on bent wing birds.....

Happy modelling to you all Folks !!

Sincerely.

Literally true; but surely just a bit too early to worry about the waning of the year Alain? :D  I guess it's all about context - ski season still seems awfully far away....

Speak for yourselves my friends…. The planet has a Southern Hemisphere too!

The Corsairs look good, even in the northern hemisphere.
