corsaircorp
Hello Dears, Now mumbling and mumbling again about this... Sanding and sanding again will be a bit more productive !! Then my daughter has done this HUGE self portraiit on canvas ! She was just cleared by her teacher to have ONE thing that can be corrected…. She represented her cosplay red lenses... She Don't like her green Brown eyes ! Whatever, but the painting is ace !! Have a great modelling time ! Sincerely. CC
corsaircorp
Hello Dears ! Very oftenly, my modelling envy are drived by History and Stories... So when I hear that a -4 has downed a MiG 15, I directly wanted to have a reproduction of that bird !! So I started the kit together as the researches…. All this can be the best way to put yourself in dire straits…. Or difficulties…. Or challenges Because Capt Jesse Folmar was flying in the "Checkerboard" Sqdn…. Yes Checkerboard is really what one can expect…. That will be Funnnnnyyyyyy !! All these tiny squares of masking tape…. How can I be so stupid sometimes…. But I'm far from there right now, I have to correct these Shallow wheels wells !! Then Academy has a represention of the formation lights !! HB did'nt ! That will be fun too but I have a plan to cheat this !! Thank for watching ! Sincerely. CC
corsaircorp
Hello Dears, Coat after coat, sanding after sanding it start to look good ! And I'll finally have the correct angle for the back of the X bird !! Once again, it will be hard to say that this is a Hobbycraft kit !! I like that confusing game I also worked on my Ni Fi Corsair, creating the oïl cooler and so on ! Have a great modelling time ! Sincerely. corsaircorp
Hello Dears, Ok an oïl cooler to be used as an optical masking for this full open flap cooler ! Then, 2 actuators and some wiring ! That will look the part ! Sincerely. CC
corsaircorp
Hello Dears, I like to compare somethings when modelling ! And thinking that there is a mere 30 years in between these 2 aircraft engines…. Each considered as reliable and powerfull in their respective era !! Le Rhône / Oberursel …. 110Hp in 1915 Widely used and copied…. Pratt & Whitney P 2800.... 2200 Hp in 1943 Widely used too and improved !! A mere 30 years, the 20th century has been fast…. Real fast ! Sincerely. CC
corsaircorp
Hello Dears, Seemingly, in 2019, we will not have to wait December for having a Corsair done !! Yesterday, I buttoned up the F4U-2 !! And sanded again this long running project of a XF4U Start to look like the X bird, before the Golf course …. Have a great modelling time !! Full of fun Aaaaand sanding of course !! Sincerely. CC

I will finish a Corsair this year Now I say in another thread that this kind of contraption can be tempting... Our Dear tentacled one can be interested… But may be @TheBaron could be a great candidate !! or the Jumo 004 powered French B-26 Now, it's just me saying… Have a great modelling Week end !! Take care and thanks for watching !! Sincerely. CC

Ciao No but I mix it with Tamiya greencap !! Then it has almost the consistency of melted plastic !! I mixed the Mc Chouffe with some chocolates or cheeseblocks, depending of my mood of the day !! We will have one in the flesh at SMW 2019, Did'nt we ? Sincerely. CC

Have a great modelling time ! Sincerely. CC I had to do a bit of looking up but here you go.. It is a hooked Meteor MkIII EE337 (according to the text the MkIII had a bigger wing) with more powerful engines and the stronger undercarriage from the Meteor MKIV. It was landed on HMS Implacable on 8th June 1948 by Capt Eric 'Winkle' Brown. I have a few things to build before I get around to Post WWII. I have Lt Stott's Firefly MkI in WIP at the moment. It's about to get the weathering done. I have also started fumbling around converting an F4F-4 to a Martlet IV. To date I have taken off all the engine cylinders and rebuilt the engine as the 9 cylinder Wright Cyclone, still need to do the wiring loom but the basics are there. I have also cut down the the cowling to the right length. So just to build the aeroplane around it now. This will be the Aircraft that Lt DM Jeram used for Op. Torch. Beyond that I have a dilemma. I have an old tool Airfix 1/48 Hawker Hurricane. I need to decide if I'm going to rework it and if so it will be either S/Lt DM Jerams 213 Sqn Hurricane I he flew during the BoB or convert to a MkI Trop of Royal Navy Fighter Flight flown by Lt F Charlton in Egypt Nov 41 (bit of a change from TSS colours) or bin it and get a new tool version. Then of course there is the Mosquito that needs conversion to an NFXIII of 29 Sqn RAF flown by Lt D Price and SLt R Armatige. All that before I start to replenish the stash, at least two Seafire IIIs required there...

Now, that's a great program ! Can't wait to see your firebox ! Sincerely. CC I was looking at an aftermarket Cyclone but I think I have managed the front face ok. I need to do a little work on the crankcase but it removing bits rather than adding on. Hardest part is going to be how to mount it in the fuselage as it will be well forward of where the original engine was supposed to go. I am quite lucky because I have a reasonably clear view of how I want my collection to develop. I would send you a PDF in a PM - but I can't attach the document to the PM which would explain my path better. Basically I am working my way through the list of FAA Aces trying to build an example of what they flew on specific missions - where known (highly nerdy 😜) it stops me from buying things I don't need (yeah right!) and I don't have much in the small stash which is not going to be part of it. As for the firebox, I think i might be able to get it done this weekend but it depends on my fluctuating mojo..
corsaircorp
Hello Dears, These guys at HB are pretty funny…. On this kit, one cannot lower the flaps… It would have been great …. But they reproduce a step that should not be there, it has been implemented on the mid production F4U-1D.... So I must recreate the hand fan that close the gap in between the 2 flaps... And now she look a bit more like a Corsair !! Have a great modelling time and take care !! And Happy valentine to all the lovers !! Sincerely.
