Gent Oh Gents !!

This kit is a stunner...

I was wondering "Why the hell did they design such a complicated rear side for the wing ???

IMG_20200608_225940

The half circle of both the Tamiya and ICM are fair enough...

I tried to place the wing, dry fitting in fact...

One or two test fit and the wing did'nt get in place....

I think for myself " Mmmmh, here's where the devil is lying in this otherwise easy kit"

Aaaand all of sudden I hear a Click...

I feared that something has broke up...

But No, not at all, the wing was in place, perfect dihedral and almost no joins...

See...

IMG_20200608_222759 IMG_20200608_222806 IMG_20200608_222816

Very surprising, just a bit of tape to close up the nose...

Surprising Really !!

Now on the Allisson front,

What do you think about this gunsight ???

IMG_20200608_232035

Well black on black, it's not easy to see...

And I ensure you that I did'nt write the motto "Objects in the rear view mirror may appear Blaaa blaaah"

But rear view mirror is scratched and right in its place...

I'm glad of the result...

IMG_20200608_231158

Ok gents !! Have a great modelling time aaaand have fun !!

Take care too !!

Sincerely.

Looking great there CC - lovely work on the cockpit and nice to hear it is the usual excellent Eduard fit. I could be very tempted with the Eduard kit and I certainly need to add a pony to the stash :)

Aaaand on the Mustang's fromt ??

Here we are !!

IMG_20200610_234524

Eduard _D and ICM -A, sanding is now almost done but for the windshield..

IMG_20200610_234707

ICM and Tamiya -D, sanding is well on its way on the ICM one

There will be sanding on the Tamiya one too alas...

IMG_20200610_235326

The ventral scoop is complete and look, almost no sanding...

It's surely the first part that fit so well...

See you later Gents !!

Have fun with your models !!

Sincerely.

Time for setbacks for everyone this time... Seemingly....

Here's mine !!

I was about to close the wheel wells of the -A Mustang for priming;

I use to close the wheel wells with the doors, momentarily glued with maskol or sort of....

Aaaaaand !!

IMG_20200611_235614

Surprise !! There's no clamshell door in the ICM Mustang A....

IMG_20200611_234646

For the -D and -K no probs... Clamshell are there But:rant::rant::rant:

IMG_20200611_234652

I want them to have... @Pete in Lincs used a pretty fine expression in which a poor camel is involved...

Time to tell it but I did'nt remember the sentence....

Well let's try to finish on a more positive mode, I share this pic from FB cause it made me laugh !!

102263851_10213701370927523_9166785864477286976_o

I start to love peoples with an attitude...:rofl2:

Oh, and I also lost a control stick of one of my Hurricanes....

Soooo, Making a control stick and 4 clamshell doors...

Definitely, 2020 will not be a great year for my modelling....

Have a better time in modelling than I did yesterday...

Sincerely.

I can't remember it either. Sorry.

As for the ginger ale picture, The fashion for Naugahyde car seat covers almost drove the Nauga to the point of extinction! Luckily a small herd survived in New Zealand.

@corsaircorp There was something like, 'I was sad because I didn't have a Camel, but then I met a man with no feet'. Could that be it?

Thanks Pete !

It was in a banter with the Martian, If I remember it was about a camel and a thousand fleas..; or something like that !!

Thank you.

Probably Martian fleas and beer shampoo then.

Gosh, I do hope @Martian doesn't read this. I might get into trouble. :poke:

Too late! He has and you are! Is that the sound of blurglecruncheon blades I hear being sharpened? It is? Good. Gobberwarts on the bread board then Pete. :yikes:

My missus keep carry on with the photography...

Here's the sundown pic of the day !!

IMG_3576

Meanwhile, I finished my U.S bombs for the 112th Mustang..

IMG_20200614_002550

Eduard bombs to be hung under an ICM Mustang, The AP one uis for the Barracuda !

And I primed the -A, I will paint it whatever !!

IMG_20200614_004250

Given the huge sanding and filling on this kit, I think that the result is really smooth !!

Then, I'll scratch the U/C doors

I will close it, that will spare me the inner detailling, and after all the clamshell are oftenly closed when the A/C is on the ground !!

Have a great sunday and happy father day to all the father among you all !!

Sincerely.

Oooooh Gents !!

I think that I'll love airbrushing now !!

I got a very nice and usefull gift from my good lady !!

It was fatherday in Belgium and I receive this !

IMG_20200614_151526

I used it today for the first time and it's a new frontier for me...

IMG_20200616_113242

Regular air flow !! No more spit and sprotch....

My old compressor has no tank and the variations in airflow was a nightmare...

I had to dismantle the airbrush every now and then to find it clogged with paint...

IMG_20200616_113249

No more paint mixing...

Well lots of thanks to my missus !!

Sincerely.

As I talked not so long ago about the U.S Cavalry....

IMG_20200621_230232

I was figuring out my ICM Mustang -D but something was still itching me....

Aaaaand Dang !! The panny dropped !!

IMG_20200621_233737

I think that it look far better that way !!

Luckily, my nurse customer gave me plenty of syringe needles...

I'll need a bit of !!

What do you think guys ??

I'll do the same treatment for the Tamiya one !!

I still hesitate for the Eduard since the moulding is far better... but... The one who know me....

Let's have a bet...

Take care Gents !!

And thanks for watching !!

Sincerely.

Hello Dears,

Here's the way I work with my syringe needles...

IMG_20200625_212431

I cut a segment with the cutting plier

Be carefull !! I did it over a very soft stuff, like kitchen towel paper

Because the thing rebound heavily and PING !! try to find it now !!

Someone will find it.... in his foot...

Never put your finger in the way neither... It will sting you... Guess how i know it !!

Then I clean up the squashed part of the needle with the @perdu power tool...

I mean this one

IMG_20200625_212423

Once you got a clean diameter, you cut another segment with the same care and on we go...

IMG_20200625_230234

one wing done on the 112 'stang... And this jealous little A pony is poking his nose in...

Ok, I understand....

IMG_20200625_230237

Are you glad now A pony ??

Oh ! another little question because I mismatch myself with all these berries...

Are these Raspberries

IMG_20200625_220236 IMG_20200625_220232

Have a great modelling time !!

I'm busy in the garden these day !!

And the replacing the cooker in the kitchen !!

CC the electrician is on now !!

Take care Gents !!

Sincerely.

Hello Dears,

I finished the painting of the A Mustang...

Clean, I love my new compressor, painting start to be a pleasure...

IMG_20200628_204516 IMG_20200628_204528

It's kinda like learning anew... Since, I've adopted strategies with my old cheapo compressor...

Strategies that are no longer usefull...

Then I start the decalling...

I must say that I prayed Santa Giorgio or Saint @giemme before starting these huge and wrapping decal...

IMG_20200628_212029

Part one look right...

And then....

IMG_20200628_224220 IMG_20200628_224230

Not too bad, I'll let it set thoroughly now...

Here we are today... Tomorrow, I start another evening work week...

IMG_20200629_001831

Evening work week mean no more models...

But if I did'nt have too much of work, I paid visits to your threads...

Have a great modelling time Gents and Dames...

Sincerely.

Hello Dears !!

Well my cut out finger slowed me a bit...

Note for our Dear @The Spadgent as I'm not as able as usual, I just took the 5 Mustang on the table...

I'm rectifying the fuel tank for the Allisson Mustang

It's surely a pre serie model since the apparent welding is really different

Have a look at the pic of Mrs Virginia here above...

I start rubbing Mrs virginia's legs... This on for @CedB

IMG_20200710_234109

I don't know yet for tomorrow... Ponies or Hurries even the Wurgers can pop up...

The 112th Mustang will soon be primed...

Have a great modelling Week End !!

Time for me to go with Green clay on my forced rigid Oh you know what I mean !!

Sincerely.

CC who found a new way to loose some weight....:rambo:

CC,

Just now saw your Mustang WIP. I have a suggestion that might work when cutting up syringes for gun barrels, not to mention not putting your modeling digits at risk. Take a length of  stainless or brass stiff wire or rod that will fit inside the syringe; this will keep the walls of the syringe needle from collapsing while cutting. Next, using a triangular needle file, cut-off disk on a Dremel, or a pair of wire cutters, you can rotate them around the syringe needle until the section is cut through or is scored enough so it can be snapped off. The cut end will be a lot cleaner and not squashed using this method. Same method we used in chemistry class when cutting glass tubing to length! (Nobody is in the naughty corner- where the heck did everybody go?) :giggle:

Hello Mike,

Thank for the tip !

I'll give it a try since ther is 12 .50 to do before reloading the Royal box with 2 more Mustangs...

Nobody in the naughty corner ???

We are 2 , that's a fact and @Martian will send us new attendants before the end of the week end....

My wounded finger hurt a bit when I use the beer tap...

Look, I found some special Martian taps

106927892_3117798701622484_7014524377190759344_o

Usual suspects will not resist a long time to such a temptation....

@perdu's is not open yet... He'll feel the smell and rushin'in...
