"START THE PURPLE! START THE PURPLE!"

Bronco's 1/35th scale Humber Scout Car, nearly straight out of the box.

They provide a commander figure who bears a remarkable resemblance to Michael Caine as JOE Vandeleur from "A Bridge too Far", hence the title of this piece.

Its a fairly straightforward build, a full interior, including the engine is provided.

The decals for the Guard Armoured Division featured the wrong colour for the symbol so I sourced some after market ones.

Painted with Tamiya acrylics.

Good build(love the weathering) & good quote, reminds me of a game my brother & I used to play........we'd quote random lines from movies & the other had to identify the movie, good nostalgia trip.

Cheers

Andrew

Loved the movie, except for Gene Hackman & his pronunciation of the word "Germans"!

Actually HL-10,in one of the photos where he's looking from L to R,he looks more like Mr Incredible from the kids movie The Incredibles.......or maybe Ian Dowie (ex of West Ham Utd!)

Great little kit, well painted HL.le

I have to agree that he looks more like Mr Incredible!

Will you be setting the Humber in a dio?

Yes, I do intend to put the Humber in a dio with either a British Sherman, or maybe a Cromwell with some infantry.

Thanks for the comments and compliments, very much appreciated ! :D

I like the idea about the quotes game. Did something similar with a friend I e-mail regularly, but they were all quotes from the same film, I think by the end we had covered the whole script!

Excellent little Humber,....great stuff!!

That film has a lot to answer for because it made me want to be a paratrooper!

As for quotes my favourite is "Sorry.....we haven`t got the facilities to take you  all prisoner,.......was there anything else?",......Maj. Digby Tatham-Warter was the real officer who carried the brolly,..... who I was privileged to meet!

Great model,

Cheers
