Revell 1/72 Type IX U-Boat U-515

Recommended Posts

I just completed the Revell 1/72 Type IX U-boat U-515 in the WIP section. I used Vallejo acrylics for the base and burnt umber and burnt sienna oils for the rust streaks and chipping. Wetted pastels were used for the waterline weathering and dry pastels were used for the overall streaking. The AA guns were from MpM.

Enjoy.

Hi Bitzer

I am not a maritime builder but I do know when a model has been finished to a superb standard.

The weathering is brilliant, I particularly like the white 'scum line' on the sides of the vessel. also the rigging and just aboat everything else!

Good job

Cheers

Keith

Thanks again guys!

Lucus, It's an easy kit to build. The only part heavy area is the tower. I just add difficulty by installimg the PE sets and spending weeks adding the "oil canning" effect.
