Microdot
Hi I hope i am posting in the right section. Has anybody here any idea where I can get a set of Revell 1:72 Pilots and Ground Crew RAF WWII , there seems to be a world wide shortage of these figures. I've scoured the net for sometime now and come up blank. they can be obtained on ebay but you have to pay stupid money. I contacted Revell and was told there was no problems with distribution. I could use the Airfix set but in my opinion they are rubbish, its that horrible soft plastic. So if anybody see's a set somewhere let me know http://www.scalemodellingnow.com/hnaircraftother-revell-pilotsgroundcrew-royalairforce thanks. Hardcastle
Not sure - first I have heard of this set...we always behind here in the South of Africa! What would be nice was if Revell could do a Royal Navy set too - for the Corvette etc. you know! Tim Hardcastle

JimHead23
The Revell RAF set is very nice but very rare indeed now. I was not aware that they were still in the Revell catalogue and had thought they were out of production for a while. The Airfix set were brilliant when they first came out over forty years ago but can't really compete now. However, as I am sure Al Gunthwaite would agree, Gunthwaite Minatures do some excellent metal figures including a few RAF (Could do with more!) which paint up a treat. Al Gunthwaite
Thanks for the kind comments Jim. Wamwig, what started as a little update to the website has (out of necessity) involved a rebuild. However, it should be up again next week. Meanwhile my Twitter feed as some teasers of the latest figures: http://www.twitter.com/gunthwaite Incidentally, I'm a big fan of the Reedoak figures (which I saw mentioned in a thread earlier to day)...but they come at a price! I've just been trying to post a pic of a WAAF I'm in the middle of painting (I'll try again later) Al
Al Gunthwaite
There...not the sharpest photo but I think it demonstrates the point...it is 1/72 scale. Al
wamwig
Agree with you there Al re the Reedoak figures although as you say they come at a price! Good to see some more Gunthwaite naval figures on the way, I'll have that Corvette fully crewed one day. the aircrew figures are also much appreciated. Look forward to the revamped website when its back up.
Hardcastle
Metal figures are fine if you paying in pounds, but with our exchange rate it really adds up quickly, so a Revell or Airfix set would be more accessible. Tim

Tim Hardcastle T'wud be nice for a dedicated set but in the meantime Revell do a set of U Boat crew figures. As the Kriegsmarine uniform is based on the RN's they are easily made into RN figures. https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/RV2525 http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=792 Revell's aircrew sets are based on the Prieser sets. Thee a couple of figures different between the sets but the rest are the same. They too are hard to find but its another option to look for. http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=1709 http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Review.aspx?id=
