Papertiger59 Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 Hi there, Dos anyone knows about sources or pics of Gustavs in Bulgarian post war service, before most of them were send to Yugoslavia ? Regards, Chris.
Jure Miljevic Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 Hi Chris I only know about one such photo, although there are probably many more around. It has been published in Въздушната мощ на Царство България, volume four, book. Cheers Jure
Jure Miljevic Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 Here it is: http://me109.airwar1946.nl/foreign/109-bulgaria.htm Not much, but I hope it helps. Cheers Jure 1
Papertiger59 Posted November 15, 2016 Author Posted November 15, 2016 Hi Jure, That's great. I was looking for Gustavs wearing the post '44 roundels. Of course, camo schemes and codes are hard to ascertain, but that's a good begining. Thanks a lot !!!
Jure Miljevic Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Hi, Chris I am sorry, I have nothing conclusive on camouflage, the best I can offer are speculations. I checked the AJ Press book, cited as a source on that webpage, though. There is another photo of Bulgarian Bf 109 G from early 1945, apparently just before adaption of new national markings. Her camouflage is described as original Luftwaffe RLM 74/75/76 with added spots and curves in RLM 76. Again, I am not positive about it, although it sounds plausible. Cheers Jure
