Spitfire31 Posted November 15, 2016 Share Posted November 15, 2016 Beautiful Spitfire with just the right amount of subdued weathering, IMHO. The aerial wire is questionable, though – late autumn 1940, Spitfires received VHF radio sets, which eliminated the need for the wire. Instead, the much shorter antenna was integral to the antenna post. Since this particular Mk Vb doesn't even sport the triangular wire fastening prong on the mast, the wire should be removed.
