corsaircorp
Hello Dears, I came from my LHS with Albion alloy tube of 1,6mm and go on, Here's the result ! I did the blast tube for the guns The cannons are located behind the Wheel well... Now, I think about improving the gun ports, this is not yet exactly the same than the real thing but we are nearing it ! I wish I could have finished Willie the Whale this year ! Sincerely. corsaircorp
Hello Dears, Hum, I was glad about my blast tubes for the 20mm cannons.... I based my work on this pic So my tubing has just to be honed a bit to conform the fuselage and all will be right ? Is in't it ??? And in fact NO Since I found now this pic from an operational Skyknight.... The Veeeeery long barrels are protruding from the blast tube And you were thinking that you were about to close the fuselage.... Thanks for looking !! Sincerely. corsaircorp
Hello Dears ! So, the Drut was supposed to open my Korean War serie but .... The Seafire 47 and the Firefly Mk I made it first !! Now, I need a Blue aircraft in my serie, but The Skyraider can again get before my Skyknight.. So one last look at the interior... And the modified dashboard ! And start to close the fuselage !! It promise to be really fun !! Smell of more and more sanding.... Have a great modelling time ! Sincerely. CC
Marklo
Lovely work but I'm hardly seeing any putty. My Bristol Racer has already consumed 2 packs of Milliput and I'm still counting, (I reckon I only need an inch or two more for the wing fairings ) now that's a tale of putty and sanding....
TheBaron
More of your irrerpressible modelling CC., brightening my day to read. Whaaaat ??? To put the engine nacelles consumed both putty, Milliput and finally resin it was a total war ! The on the internals I used plasticard, putty and finally blue tack and CA glue !! 3 hours ago, TheBaron said: More of your irrerpressible modelling CC., brightening my day to read. I received these august sentences as a great honor Dear baron !! In matter of modelling, you are far ahead of me, and you are an inspiration for me !! I hope that you will come at SMW, I'll be glad to offer you this one !! Always a story of monks and nuns but Lord !! They know to make a good beer !! Thanks again your Baronship !! Well a bit more of the Drut !! started by the tail, since the half fuselages are wrapped, I'll proceed step by step !! When the tail is ALMOST right, look at the gap on the cockpit !! Serious steps both in width and hight.... My Dear @Marklo open your eyes there will be putty and milliput !! Believe me !! More to come soon !! Take care !! Sincerely ! Marklo
No I stand by both of my comments. A really good build , lots of modelling skill displayed, but not as much putty as I'd like I love the pics of the operational Skyknoghts cannon, it's so scruffy you just couldn't reproduce that in a model, it's a bit like the crinkly fabric sides typical of BE2cs, people would thing you'd made a horrible mess if you were to replicate it. corsaircorp
Hello Dears !! Speak softly and carry a big stick..... Maybe Theodore Roosevelt has tried a CMK kit.... 😱 Step by step, swear by swear wit amounts of green cap.... Plasticard, putty and sanding ... There's no miracle... Let's see tomorrow when the glue has cured a bit... More pleasure in a near future !!! Sincerely. CC

Biggles87
Hi CC I didn't realise that you were building one of these, but I do now? I also have one in the stash, so I'll be looking for tips and suggestions. John Edited June 7, 2019 by Biggles87

Have a good shot of whiskey, then have another one ! This said, it's not too bad a kit, sturdy plastic, I made the fuselage halves a bit straghter in using the vapor from the kettle !! It paid off, look !! Now to please our Dear @Marklo time for a bit of putty !! But not too much finally !! Now Willy is really looking like a stranded whale !! The oncoming output is eclectic is'nt it ?? Thank for watching my Madness !! Thank for the kind comments !! Have a great modelling Week end Sincerely. Biggles87
I looked at mine a while ago and guess what? The fuselage halves curve away from each other, though not as badly as yours do. I'll bet you're looking forward to the wing/fuselage butt joints. John

Also Is that a Skua sitting on your workbench? Hello Marklo, The stuka is the D model from Italeri, nice kit but the adjustments are.... Well ... A Skua ? No, the Skua is'nt started yet !! It's worst !! 2 Blackburn Rocs, one with the wings folded ! That's one more foolish game started with our revered Alien.... 3 X 1/48 Rocs on the tables of SMW 2019 !! Waow did you have a WiP for your Stuka ? That's a great conversion, That tell me something but I'm not sure that I get there ! Sincerely. Marklo
The hard parts are done, (spats, nose and canopy) interior, bits and bobs and paintwork left. Still cant' decide between Japanese and SCW. but the pig seems more attractive. (now that just doesn't sound right, read the thread and it (may) will make more sense) there's also an RFI for the gladiator Edited June 10, 2019 by Marklo

John I think that there are 2 or 3 Dakota in france ! One stayed in Normandy and make some touring over the beaches.. I think that there is one in La Ferté Alais... And I heard of one in Le Castelet... But now it should have changed ... CC
corsaircorp
Hello Dears, a kind of teasing for a future post in the interesting spots ! well yesterday has been really shaky and I did only a little on the bench !! However, it was Douglas evening... I start the making of a cantilever for this beastie ! As there is no plan or marked places, I did pegs for the wing pylons Then remembering the wise words of @Troy Smith Never trust a profile... Pictures are more helpfull ! And here are the spots !! I hope to finish the Drut this year ! More to come soon ! Sincerely. CC
