sloegin57
Number 256 Squadron operated NF.Mk.XII's and NF.Mk.XIII's from Forli, in NE Italy, from March 1945 until the end of the war on Bomber Support duties over the Balkans and northern Italy.
KevinK
If you look online for photos, you will find that the RAF, SAAF and USAAF operated PR Mosquitos from San Severo, near Foggia. These had interesting schemes for the MAAF, as many carried a set of D-Day invasion stripes. The reason for this was that the PR aircraft would shuttle between Italy and the UK, taking photos for MTO targeting when southbound and targets for home-based aircraft when northbound, so they routinely operated in two theatres. They also carried red or red-white-striped fins & rudders as a recognition feature to differentiate them from the Me410.
The wooksta V2.0
60 Sqn SAAF had a pair of the rare Mosquito PRII, all six of which were conversions from NF.IIs.
