Carius
Greetings to all On January 14, 2015, me and my wife had the privilege and honor to meet the commander of 2 Schwere Panzer-Abeilung 502, Oberleutnant Otto Carius. We traveled to the little town of Herschweiler-Pettersheim (Germany) and went to the Tiger Apotheke (Tiger pharmacy), where the legend with 92 years old lived. It was a quick and exciting encounter because, unfortunately, he was very sick, although we did not realize. We talked about various subjects, we took fotos and I got autographs including on the photo of the Otto CariusTiger tank that I built (very precious to me). He was very happy and nice. He was very pleased, because we brought to him brazilian coffee. In fact was very exciting to us. But, due to his precarious health condition, the secretary, Ms. Petra Göddel, told us that he would not receive more visits, except family and close friends. At the time to say goodbye Ms Göddel asked us to pray for him. Unfortunately he died 10 days later. REST IN PEACE HERR CARIUS (* May. 27.1922 ; † January. 24. 2015) Special thanks are due to my german modeller friend Rudy Max Kehl, to pharmacist Björn B. Göddel and Petra Göddel, people who made this fantastic and unforgettable meeting possible. Well, the Panzer Commander Otto Carius: Otto Carius with the "Tamiya Tiger IE Otto Carius" kit: The meeting: The autographs on the photos of the "Tiger IE Otto Carius" from Tamiya, that I build: Now, the meeting Immortalized in the form of a frame: Finally, my Tiger IE from Tamiya, build many many years ago: That's all...
