Max Headroom
Good afternoon dear listener. 2016 is almost over and I've scored a big fat zero in completed builds. For various reasons my modelling mojo has taken a severe knock this year and I can only marvel at the quantity/quality that some members here are able to achieve. So when in my local model shop recently I found this model and a Fairey Battle (1/144 scale for less than the price of a pint I thought why not? So last night in about 20 minutes I had my first "session" in months. Here are the box and contents.......
Max Headroom
Now then dear old Photobucket conspires to mess up my pix in that I can't insert text underneath the photos (I use an iPhone btw) and have to place them in reverse order So here is what I did after 20 minutes. All snap fit, but only the fuselage halves and undercarriage don't have any glue (Tamiya Extra Thin). Not a bad model so far except those stickies and I'm sure the gun in the turret would be the equivalent of a 40mm beast if scaled up! Next up, paint the cockpit area 'dark', glue it all together, smooth seams and choose a scheme. Trevor .......how do you mask transparencies in this scale?

CedB
Not my scale but as it's you... Masking? You're not going to try to airbrush it are you?? I'd just get some brushes and use cut painted tape for the framing... maybe? You're a brave man.
Rob G
You're nuts. Good work mate, it'll be a cracker with paint on it.
Max Headroom
Thanks guys. The masking was purely tounge in cheek! I'm having a think as to the framing. As for painting, I may wait until I've also done Zvezda's equally complicated Battle and Hurricane and do a batch of them. Stay tuned! charlie_c67
I've the Battle and Blenheim to do myself. Had thought about the undercoat and have finally admitted I'll have to do the parts separate and then hand paint. As for the stickers, scan and print some other correct maybe....?
John_W
If you had a set of multiple sized hole punches, you could punch different sized discs of colour from spare decals and self assemble.
Max Headroom
Thanks guys. No hole punches or scanners for me I'm afraid. A bit of creativity will be in order. I remember someone saying that generic transfers were available on eBay. I'll see if I can find them. Trevor
charlie_c67
At 1/200? Sounds intriguing. Wonder what other aircraft there are in this scale?
Max Headroom
They do a mixture of 1/144 and 1/200. There are also Ju-88 of various marks and and a Ju-87 too. Trevor
