Just caught up with this thread, only slightly late!!!

Would love to know how both the kit and the real thing are doing now???

Great projects and great work on both.

All the best

Chris

897 herself now has wings, tail booms a runnable engine tail cone and one engine cover.

With a set of tip tanks and a tail plane  she will be externally complete. Then comes the fun part of restoring everything.

As for progress on the kit, lovely weather we're having 🙄

Progress!

Fairly poor and uninspiring progress I'll grant you but progress none the less

I've not been happy with the interior, I'm finding things aren't quite lining up how they should. I put the correctly scaled replacement panel template in and it looks far too small.

Either the office is too big or I haven't made the new floor high enough

Hopefully this virus thing will have the courtesy to sod off so I can take some more measurements of the Lady herself.

Still, idle hands are the Devils work so I started bunging a few sub assemblies together.

Any progress is good progress, nice to see you back on this one and glad the 1:1 is progressing as well

   Stay safe                       Roger

Its a popular and well known fact that my WIP's tend to be some what lengthy affairs, the more observant may note that some time back I presented my new Grand daughter Lily Rose.

As evidence of the glacier like progress she paid a recent visit to the museum.

And if further evidence was ever needed this one has arrived as well.

But in my defence may I please present for your viewing pleasure one scratch built FAW.53 instrument panel

Plasticard and Airscale goodies (Nice work @airscale)

I am rather proud of that though it not finished by a long shot.

Looking good there old boy!! 😍 I do need to get some airscale decals rather than scratting through the spares decal box. Bringing back fond memories that IP. 🤗 Heres to more progress and healthy Grandkids. 👍

Johnny.

Right where was I?

Decided it was time to stop faffing about like a nanna at a christening and finish the office.

Saints be praised it nearly sorta fits.

AIMS have redone their Mk.4's to include belts, a quick test fit to make sure everything is where it should be.

Trial fitting the gun sight shelf and gunsight.

Then onto the mighty Ghost 104 for a change of scenery.

Unfortunately the diffuser casing was a little bit too diffused for my liking so a scrounge in the spares box found another
