Hi all and here's my latest finish, the Vietnam workhorse that was the Huey, built for the Huey GB here on Britmodeller.

You can read the WIP here but to recap:

 

UH-1D Slick 116th Assault Helicopter Company  - "The Hornets" 1965-1971

KitItaleri 1247 UH-1D Iroquois

Scale: 1/72

Paints: Revell acrylics, brush painted. Future, Flory Models Wash

Decals: Kit

Extras: Scratchbuilt door guns mounts; M-60s from spares box. Engine mesh from teabag (!) seat belts from masking tape

Hi Dermot,

 

this is a beautiful Huey, and I love these markings. Congratulations on a damn smart finish!

Have you found any hint of a tail sitting tendency on this model? Although it never happened for this GB, I still have a Esci UH-1D to finish; I will nonetheless have to source after market decals. And I sure do not want to see it raising its nose!!!

I would definitely recommend some weight towards the front - I hid some in an ammo crate behind the pilots' seats. You could also put it under the floor probably..
