Thud4444
The Spitfire 1500, one of the few British roadsters I can actually fit in. My buddy had a royal blue spit that was a great little car, just slow as Christmas. We meet a local guy who pulled his stock Spitfire 1500 motor and replaced it with a Chevy 4.3 putting out about 260 bhp. That turned the little thing into a beast. Believe it or not outside of a completely necessary brake upgrade, the little car was very well behaved. One of these days when I marry rich, I'm gonna get one for myself. That's because said bozo's hadn't learned their craft on RWD Escorts and so : A/ Didn't know how to get Capri to hang it's tail out(that LSD in a 2.8 was a hoot). B/ Didn't know how to keep it there when Capri did hang it's tail out C/Didn't know how to gather it all up quickly enough, hit the brake pedal and exit stage right/left into the scenery.Backwards.At a good rate of knots. Ascoteer
I almost bought a Capri 2.8i. Then I woke up...
Rob G
You want terminal understeer? Try a bit of spirited driving in the Australian-spec 6 cyl Cortina. 250ci of straight 6 Ford iron under the bonnet. Nasty (but so much fun in a straight line.)

'Went' suggests that: a., you are no longer in possession of this Fearsome BeastTM; b., it is in a (sad) state of disrepair; or c., I haven't been paying close enough attention (as usual). I would not have liked to meet that barrelling along at me out of a dark night, I can assure you. My reflexes would have ended me up in a ditch - or worse - if I was lucky. When the Spit stared to suffer from the dreaded tin worm I sold her to a fellow racer who wanted the bits for his GT6 Racer. I subsequently owned a raft of expensive sports cars including a DeTomaso Pantera, a Lotus Elan SE and and a Ginetta G33 (aside from a Ginetta G15R racer in which I won a major race championship). Its no wonder I have no savings having spent all my money on fast cars when I was in the RAF. Currently I owm an MGTF that runs some 275bhp on Nitrous Oxide.
