theplasticsurgeon
Starting the GB with this Airfix offering. This will be an OOB build. This one cost me 7.99 at Ian Allen Manchester branch in May this year. Later bought another from Home Bargains! And here's my Mustang build for GB II.
TEMPESTMK5
Good Afternoon Good choice this kit is easy to build I just regret that there is no decals sheets currently available on the market for the Korean War Mustangs .. Patrice
JimmyZ
I have the same kit in the stash (saving for a 'special' build). I'd like to see how yours turn out. Edited October 1, 2016 by JimmyZ
TEMPESTMK5
Hello Again From my experience the Airfix Mustang suffers from a bent landing gear leg on almost all the kits I already built however I plan to build some more for this Gb but this time I will use Scale Aircraft Conversions sets https://www.scalemates.com/kits/193003-scale-aircraft-conversions-72057-p-51d-f-51d-mustang-iv-landing-gear... Building this kit also it requires some dry fitting tests before assembling the fuselage with the wings ... Patrice

trickyrich
that's be a nice addition to to the Mustang Squadron. Welcome aboard, and goo luck with the build
theplasticsurgeon
I had wondered why there was no mass stampede of wild horses at the start. . .just picked up on the change of start date. Putting this build on ice for 3 weeks now. I've painted a few cockpit parts - but no assembly as yet. See you again on 22 Oct. In the meantime - here are the parts. It does suffer the pre-warned bent undercarriage - which I found during my Firewall build. theplasticsurgeon
Resuming this build. Well done to Airfix for announcing a 1/48 Mustang kit. This is how we do Mustangs. A bit of preparation painting during the lay-off, BUT during that time I've interviewed successfully and found a new post.
