Homebee
Confirmed as new tool with ref.48261. Release expected for Q3 2017 https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/ICM48261 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Not mentioned in the 2016 catalogue (http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234995418-icm-catalog-2016-programme/), dixit scalemodels.ru ICM is to release in 2017 a new tool 1/48th Heinkel He.111H-3 kit - ref.48261 Source: http://scalemodels.ru/news/10678-anons-ICM-1-48-He-111H3.html A new family of 1/48th He.111 in view? Would make sense after the 1/48th Do.17/Do.215 & Ju-88 ICM kits but wait and see. Scalemodel.ru info also show a box art... Dubious as it's the Revell 1/32nd He.111H-6 one! V.P. elger
it would make sense given they've produced the Do 17 family, JU-88. The artwork posted here is the same as the Revell 1/32 H-6 kit though.

BIG X
Wow - this would be smashing. I've scoured the tinterwebs for a 1/48 He111 & found nothing. However - I'm new to all this & have no knowledge of ICM's reputation on coming up with the goods. So the question is - do I start holding my breath - or do I forget about it - the tension is killing me already.
BushBrit66
I assume you know about the Monogram kit as well? Its very good
BIG X
...sorry to double post - but... Can anyone please advise if ICM announcements are generally "spot on" or "hog wash" - I am very excited about this prospect.
tony.t
Peeps have been positive about ICM's Ju 88 series. I'm also interested in an objective appraisal as I'm excited about their imminent 1/48 MiG-25RBT. Tony
BIG X
Do we think this is 100% nailed on for 2017??? Are ICM reliable on their announcements or are they just "teasers"???
tony.t
I may be wrong but I'm not certain any announcement was actually made by ICM themselves - yet. Was the announcement not a Russian rumourmonger thread based on some kind of inside knowledge? The 1/48 ICM MiG-25RBT was originally due in the third quarter of this year but is now slated for next month. So, add three-four months to the schedule to be safe. ICM have a large catalogue and are not cowboys. HTH Tony
BushBrit66
This is an ICM original. Just pointing out there is an alternative from Monogram

Bush - as PM'd I appreciate your tip & I will keep looking for the Revell / Monogram versions - if I can find something cheaper than this £291 offering... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Monogram-Heinkel-German-Bomber-Model/dp/B017CBRSGS
BushBrit66
They also do the H22 variant with powered turret and V1 under wing. This H6 may not not be too expensive. You see them at shows for around 30 quid http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FACTORY-SEALED-Monogram-1-48-Heinkel-He-111-German-Bomber-box-damage-/182358205947?hash=item2a756565fb:g:RpEAAOSwB09YF7~

BIG X
Hi Homebee - this looks awesome - but is it available? I live near Manchester (UK) & I believe these were used in attacks just a few miles from my house - this makes very interesting reading http://aircrashsites.co.uk/air-raids-bomb-sites/a3/ especially this one - http://aircrashsites.co.uk/air-raids-bomb-sites/v1-flying-bomb-site-oldham/ - which I pass on most days on the way home from work - eerie... BushBrit66
They are available second hand. They are in this box or have been in a Revell Germany box. I have one and they are very nice. Try Kingkit or the various shows

Are ICM reliable on their announcements or are they just "teasers"??? Nothing is EVER 100% nailed-on certain from ANY manufacturer for ANY date until it's in the shops. And not always even then, as was proved by the non-appearance in the UK of the Airfix Swift after it had been released in low volumes in the USA, and the moulds broke and took many months to repair.

thepureness
Crew figures seem to be very rare in kits these days. though easy enough to find from aftermarket though
