caterhamnut
Just arrived, silly money but really wanted a 'full body-work' car to try...it will probably be ages before any actual WIP starts, but I know it is sometimes nice to see how the kit looks... It's huge! A lot of bodywork! I think the extra cost over and above the F1 models must be the wire wheels. The turning and machine work is stunning, and many many wires and sleeves, but no experience of building the wire wheels, so a bit daunting... Nice, many paged instruction book! Lots of PE parts here! ...and lots of spokes here! Less decals than F1 cars! Mesh, suede sheets etc... Very nice crisp PE... This small PE sheet is extra shiny (mirrors etc) Massive one piece body... Not that much resin parts apart from the main body - bonnet and boot are metal... Wheels and tyres are beautiful... Many bits! Spokes... ...and of course, my favorite bits - the loose bags of delicate metal bits! ...more to follow.
Fazer
Wow! Words fail me those parts alone get my heart racing.... the wire wheels are works of art Mark D
colin
Very nice caterhamnut, pity if you wanted a full body one you didn't see my Ferrari 250GTO for sale here
caterhamnut
The usual bags of very small things! Nice turned light bowls and intake trumpets... This bag contains 'chromed' parts... I assume these are glass light covers (vac formed) - these will be fun to trim... Windscreen... Inner wheel arches? And now on to that body... Hand to scale! Couldn't resist some basic assembly! There is going to have to be some delicate reshaping here... Not a fan of some of those dips and waves in that boot/engine cover... That's it for now - for probably a while in fact! But had to open the box

colin
White metal, so pliable when warm, you'll have no trouble there, MFH seem to be getting better on every new one they bring out
ROLY43T
This is a truly beautiful car and it looks as though the kit does it justice. Is the body shell in cast resin or 3D printed? Roly
PC2012
Caterhamnut, I was hoping you would post something. As the worlds foremost expert on MFH kits, do you think you could answer a couple of questions for me? Do you use CA for all your builds? What other glue do you use? For cleaning metal parts what do you use? Would distilled vinegar be okay? I have just bought a dremel to polish the metal parts, I've heard it can get grubby unless you use a varnish.. have you found that to be true? and lastly, can I spray etch primer through my airbrush without damaging it? Thanks for any help you can give. I think your builds are awesome
