06/24
T34/76 Model 1943 – За Родину So… I’m a bit late starting, but hopefully I can join in with this: T34/76 Revell/ICM with miniart tracks (maybe!) by jongwinnett, on Flickr Which I’m throwing together basically out of the box, although I may use these: T34/76 Revell/ICM with miniart tracks (maybe!) by jongwinnett, on Flickr I forgot to take a sprue shot, but I only bought it today, honest! An enforced day of work (parenting!) meant I could make rapid progress this afternoon: T34/76 Revell/ICM with miniart tracks (maybe!) by jongwinnett, on Flickr T34/76 Revell/ICM with miniart tracks (maybe!) by jongwinnett, on Flickr As I think is well known, the Revell kit is a re-pop of the ICM version, which features a rudimentary interior: T34/76 Revell/ICM with miniart tracks (maybe!) by jongwinnett, on Flickr T34/76 Revell/ICM with miniart tracks (maybe!) by jongwinnett, on Flickr Which I decided needed some work: T34/76 by jongwinnett, on Flickr T34/76 by jongwinnett, on Flickr Bulkhead and floor level ammo boxes fudged up from some evergreen sheet and strip. Not much, but enough to fool the eye for the limited sightlines: T34/76 by jongwinnett, on Flickr T34/76 by jongwinnett, on Flickr The kit includes a complete set of rubber tyred wheels, for a later 1943 build, but for an early one, a mix of the two types, with steel on the middle three stations, is appropriate: T34/76 by jongwinnett, on Flickr T34/76 by jongwinnett, on Flickr

06/24
Thanks for the encouragement chaps. Made some progress today, but not as dramatic as it was mainly sticking fiddly bits on: T34 by jongwinnett, on Flickr T34 by jongwinnett, on Flickr T34 by jongwinnett, on Flickr I then added a representation of the driver’s hatch opening lever: T34 by jongwinnett, on Flickr T34 by jongwinnett, on Flickr As well as correcting the gravity defying handles on the turret hatches (moulded so thy hang “upwards!”, now dangling in line with Newton’s law: T34 by jongwinnett, on Flickr (The shiny is some superglue filling a mould flaw.) Finally, I made a start on adding the handrails – replacing the impossible to clean up plastic with 0.45mm wire: T34 by jongwinnett, on Flickr
06/24
Today was handrails, handrails and more bloody handrails. Cleaning up, drilling and fitting umpteen little brackets. Boring! 06/24
I’ve never tried painting figures before, and a driver hidden in the dim recess of the tank seemed like a safeish place to start. Driver by jongwinnett, on Flickr Safe to say this is not yet a skill set I possess, but since the finished product will be only barely visible, I’m not too worried. Driver by jongwinnett, on Flickr Once he’s stuck in, his hand will grip the steering levers, honest! And his helmet does have ear pieces, they are just separate and I’ll fit them next.
