Thanks, Rob.  Sorry about the missing photos,  darn Photobucket really  messed up things up for a lot of people.  I still have them, however, and  will post a few over time.  Watch this space.

 

Good idea about an aviation art GB.  Not sure how many takers we'd get.  I am up to my ears in alligators at the moment, like Keith, kits to finish, etc.  And, I am putting together a plunge moulding tutorial over on the scratch building page so am currently very busy..  Do you paint?

Here's my first efforts at posting something...

There's a whole back story with me and Art, just like you.

I'm big on watercolour painting in general, but as you know, the precision required for portraying machines really works against any kind of expressive paintwork.

 

I took an interest in the Short seaplanes when I lived in Newlyn, and mostly resorted to pencil drawings to try to maintain a level of detail and accuracy.

I'll try to get some more photos and paste them on.

I'm just working with an android phone for a camera, so nothing is going to be brilliant!

 

Funny the way you get sucked into building these little things, isn't it?

It definitely fulfills a similar need or urge to create!

 

 I should be trying to model less and paint more.... But not right now !!😆

I remember your Short 184 drawings now Rob - they're very nice indeed!
