If the rumour is true that the company is closing down, it is sad news but lets remember all the good that has been given to us by this company in the past decades. I have several of their sets - they were the very first after market that I heared of and even bought another one of their sets this year (Fw 190 underwing stores). At the same time it's undeniable that Verlinden and his company have exerted a huge influence on the modelling community and it's likely that the companies in my statement above would have never existed without the work done by Verlinden many years before.
