Good grief! You are showing your age. Sandy Powell is alive and well:).

Picture came through loud and clear.

Ok.

I'm a spoon.

So, I go to the 'insert images from URL' button, copy paste the https thingy from google photos, but no pic.

I am obviously a buffoon and have no small children who can explain what is second nature to them...

Damn those pesky kids

If I click your link I get a 404 errot.

Google Photos often behaves in unpredictable ways so I really can't help.

If you move your photos to a photo hosting site (such as Flickr, village photos etc) you'll find it's all very simple.

ok, if you click it, do you get a pic?

And how do i make that a pic in the post?

I use Google Photos:

Click on the photo in question to open it on Google photos.

Right click and select 'Copy image address'.

Then just paste the link directly into your post.

I hope that helps

OOOOh I am getting so annoyed by this, I am obviously a total donkey!

That's just asking me to sign into Google photos.  I'm not sure, as I don't use them, but are there any options to create links for people to see?  You need something like "direct link" or "URL", but remember that the forum software is looking for a .jpg, .png, or .gif extension at the end in order to automatically process the pics.

When I follow that link, it takes me to a blank page that just says "These aren't the droids you're looking for." in text.  I think you're not picking up the correct link somewhere along the line :hmmm: I'm not a Flickr user though, so there's not much more I can say

As far as I'm concerned, you must be doing something right as I can see a picture of a Lancaster with it's bomb bay doors open although, as you said, it's a little on the small side.

The flickering grey square has turned into a picture (albeit a small one) of a Lanc.  That's progress at least.  I think maybe you have selected the thumbnail option to copy & paste? :hmmm:

Normally posting a photo is as simple as pasting in a URL and watching the forum interpret that into a photo.  It's getting the correct format from their photo hosts that most people with problems seem to encounter.  Have a good long look at the Flickr screen and examine each option carefully.  All you need is a URL that will show just the picture at a decent size.
