What CAR/BIKE kits have you recently bought 2?

My favourite "fast" Ford was my Fiesta XR2 MkII. That was a blast!

Do you know, despite all the performance and rally prepared Mk1 and 2 Escorts I owned, my little white Mk2 XR2 Fester was probably my favourite too - it handled like a little go cart when the suspension was aligned properly and it had good tyres fitted, brilliant little thing!!

A heads up if your stash is getting too low.😉 Jumblies has a bit of sale including nearly 50% off some Hasegawa car kits.

Thanks for the heads up Stef I may have a little browse at what they have to offer......purely for research purposes obviously 😉👍

I will try to get this thread back on track. ;)

I have wanted the RX-7, NSX, 300ZX and Supra for quite a while but could never find a store that had them all in stock at the same time until recently. The other two I don't know why I bought but who knows maybe one day I feel like building them.

As I mentioned earlier I have lots of empty space to fill up in my new house and no wife to stop me. This could become dangerous (and expensive).

Nice collection, where id you get that Honda S2000 kit?  I've been after one for some time but the only version I could see was some blinged up model rather than the nice stock variant that you've got.

I know I said I wasn't buying any more kits until I'd cleared the backlog but the S2000 would go nicely with my other Hondas.

Bought them all from a Polish store, here is the S2000: https://www.hobbysta.eu/honda-s2000-p-36775.html?currency=GBP

Is the blinged up one white with gold wheels on the box art?  If so, according to a review on its Scalemates page, that still has all the parts to build the stock version (as per the gunmetal box art above) except for the raised soft top, which is replaced by a hardtop.  The other additional parts are the gold wheels and a LHD interior.  I built a stock one a while back, and it was an excellent kit.

Nice! I've got two, but one's missing the clear parts.... :(

Looking forward to seeing that one built Andy! Did the decals come with the resin right hand drive dash that should have been included?

You are right there is only a RHD dashboard in the S2000 kit I bought. Bit of a shame would have liked a LHD too I just picked the cheapest version. I just got a reason to buy the other version as well.

I'm not sure Keith I've only just won the auction but having followed your link to hiroboy i have a question to ask you. I'm assuming that both of the decal schemes below are designed to be used with this kit, so is my assumption correct 🤔

It is indeed correct. Andy Rouse built the Labbatts and Kaliber cars and they were RHD while the Texaco car was LHD. They were all RS500's as per the Tamiya kit. If you're interested, the Rouse cars also differed from the Eggenberger built Texaco car by having the battery cut out and extinquisher handle in a neat little cut out on the left front wing - you can see it just after the 'please' on the decal instructions.

Also, you know that XR4i kit you bought....

Always hoped someone would do a transkit for that one, but no-one did.

Now I have a real conundrum as having worked for Texaco for nearly 20 years i think I have to go for the Texaco scheme which imo looks the best of all the options 🤔

It is a real iconic scheme, it's one I plan to do one day. Whatever you do make sure it's the SK decals you get and NOT those gawdawful Shunko rubbish ones! :)

Some inspiration;

Well that's it having read the link and seen those pics it's the Texaco scheme for me 🙂. Cheers Keith 🙂👍. Update SK decals purchased from Hiroboy 🙂👍

Another late night Ebay trawl has proved successful again, slowly but surely getting the F1 collection together :)

This was one of the cars that I remember vividly from the Turbo era. Either from winning or blowing up

Been after one for ages, but mega high prices has always made me think twice, but this one at £35 buy it now was too good to be true

Given how popular old Fords are, especially RS models, I am very surprised that Tamiya haven't reissued those Sierra kits (& also the Escort RS Cosworth ones).  Even the road one would be popular, but the racing / rally ones would surely be a license to print money...

They'd get a fair bit of mine (despite having, ahem, a couple of so in the stash), but they'd likely get even more if they'd do the decent thing and downscale their recent 1/10 RC Mk2 Escort and give us a modern, state of the art 1/24 tooling of one!
