Andreas.R
I bought the Italeri Fiat Abarth too, Issues: the hole powertrain is very bad, the motor looks like from a russian traktor the differential is oversized. leave the front hood closed! the clear part for the windows is very thick and has a wavy pattern. I would recommend it only as a slot car! the body and the decals are ok Regards Andreas
davecov
My recent purchasing frenzy of Airfix 1/32 car kits over the past month is almost at an end and here are my latest acquisitions. Airfix 1/32 Jaguar XKR GT3, Airfix 1/32 Mini Countryman WRC, Airfix 1/32 Ford Fiesta RS WRC and a Revell 1/24 R8: Airfix 1/32 1910 'B' Type Bus, Airfix 1/32 Austin Healey Sprite Mk.1 and another Airfix 1/32 Sunbeam Rapier: A second Airfix 1/32 Jaguar XKR GT3, 2 x 1933 Airfix 1/32 Alfa Romeo, Airfix 1/32 Porsche Carrera 5 and Airfix 1/32 Vodafone McLaren Mercedes: Airfix 1/32 MG K3 Magnette, Airfix 1/32 1911 Rolls Royce, Airfix 1/32 Bugatti 35B, Airfix 1/16 Ariel Arrow, Airfix 1/32 1902 de Dietrich and a Airfix 1/32 Renault Dauphine: Airfix 1/32 Ford 3 Litre GT , Airfix 1/32 Ferrari 250LM and Airfix 1/32 WW1 B Type Bus 'Ole Bill': Airfix 1/32 1904 Darracq, Airfix 1/32 Vauxhall Viva and Airfix 1/32 1926 Morris Cowley: I have reviewed the list of 1/32 kits we have on the ATF and have decided that I won't be buying the four re-tooled kits (Kansa Kruiser, Krackle Kat, Night Prowler or Rebel Rouser) nor will I be buying Snap-fix kits (Ford Escort, Porsche 935, Supercharged Dragster). I will also be ignoring the Ford C-900 & Trailer. That will leave five Airfix 1/32 kits on my list of wants - Austin Maxi, Bond Bug, Ford Capri, Jaguar 420G and a Morris Marina. Bearing in mind my recent spendinbg spree, it may well be years before I get all five! Dave

Dave Just a quick point - the Jag is a 420 (S-Type with a 4-headlamp front) , not a 420G (rebadged Mk10)

davecov
The Ford Escort is an American Ford Escort and I imagine that the Airfix kit was a reboxing of another manufacturers. The Airfix Product Code was 9 03414 and it was only available in 1983-4: Dave

Andy J
Well I hadn't intended buying any more rally kits for a while however a couple of cheeky bids landed me these My wife commented " why buy all these kits you can only build one at a time ". So I led her to the bedroom ( calm down this is a model forum ) pointed at her huge shoe collection and said " why buy all those shoes you can only wear one pair at a time " She replied " I'm busy I've got things to do " and disappeared. I replied " me too " and left for the bench for another session. Now that's a result in my opinion 😉 Have to admit though I felt a little uncomfortable that night when her last words to me were " sleep well darling " 🥺 Edited February 19, 2020 by Andy J 2
davecov
Nice one, Andy. 👍 My better-half Aileen and I have been together for over six years but we still live separately, 60 miles apart. We have our own craft rooms and we spend however much we like on our hobbies. Space becomes a problem sometimes but it is always my kits that get sold, not the books or DVDs that also consume a lot of my cash! Back to cars, three more kits arrived today. Airfix 1/32 Maserati Indy, Airfix 1/32 1907 Lanchester Landaulette and an Airfix 1/32 1910 Model 'T' Ford Although my car/motorbike purchases have come to an end - for now - another ten more cars/motorbikes are still in transit. chrisrope
I managed to pick up a second RM Pro Modeler 69 Charger I was stung when it arrived as it has the original incorrect bodyshell with the wrong roofline Edited March 6, 2020 by chrisrope
rs2man
Did quite well on Ebay last week - I'd been watching the Revell 78 Corvette Indy 500 pace car & got a message saying that Model Hobbies had reduced the price from £29-something to £24-something , delivered . I put one in my basket , then decided to have a 55 Chevy Indy 500 pace car as well since that was on offer at the same price . When I went to the checkout , I found that their multi-buy discount applied not just to multiples of the same kit , but multiples of similar kits so they cost me £23.32 each , delivered . Shortly after , I got another message regarding a 1/16 Bandai 1908 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost "balloon car" which I'd been watching - the seller had decided to reduce that from £54.99 delivered to £49.99 delivered , which I thought very reasonable for a large & long-OOP kit .

I was under the impression that the bodyshell was the same on both 68 & 69 variants , apart from some versions having the vinyl roof & others not . It won't cost you a penny to ask & the very worst that can happen is they say no .

Hi John I did try one email to Revell U.K. but it bounced back and not tried again since (Does the U.K. branch still exist?) Anyone know the best way to contact Revell? I will try again but I’d also need the glass as this is mis-proportioned too I have got another 69 Charger due on the slow boat from Canada, found it at a rather excellent £9 but the postage was still nearly twice that. But all in for just over £24 is a lot cheaper than I’d find one over here
