It's really the 260 version, originally issued in 1963.  I am planning to do this one as a 289 though, with added side vents, later engine and 7" wheels.

It's been reissued countless times - this is the latest one, still current:

It's not totally correct for a 260 , since it has a Mk 2 steering wheel as fitted to rack and pinion cars .  They were NOT interchangeable.

Good catch. The original issue had the correct wheel, not sure when it was altered.

That's really interesting - I've only ever seen them with the Mk 2 wheel .  The change must have been prior to 1982 - I bought and built the Matchbox AMT boxing in that year .  Did the original have narrower wheels and tyres than the later issues ?

Don't suppose you fancy selling that Mk 1 wheel do you ?  I've always fancied building a correct Mk 1 .

Is that the 1/24 ZG, or the new Street Custom? Very nice whichever.

This week's arrivals:

1:24 Aoshima Nissan Silvia/Gazelle S12 kit

I blame @Spiny for the Silvia! LS400 detail sets will help me complete a current Celsior WIP and go with a planned replica of my 1:1.

1:24 Tamiya GT86 + Aoshima Beemax Honda Civic EF3 kits

I hadn't got that generation of Civic and I think it should be possible to build it as a modified road car. The GT86 seems like a good base for the C1 bodykit I have.

its the new street/custom

Yes Mrs. Doyle ;)

For what it's worth, I'm sure you'll be pleased to hear that my willpower deserted me...

I think I have that old Cobra kit. The one I have was issued by Frog under licence so may be from the first AMT iteration of the kit.

It is stuck in an Airfix Escort box as it is a model that was built once and stripped down years ago.

Must get around to doing something with it.

Yep, those are the Frog instructions in my photo above.

I'll probably end up 3D printing one anyway, so could produce a spare.

If you do 3D print the steering wheel , would you please print me three of them , for suitable remuneration of course .

I did mention that my willpower had failed me, and so these two examples of 1990s Nissanarama arrived today - one large, one small, but neither too complicated.

It could be a while before I get around to these, but as both look relatively simple they may jump the queue a bit if I've had enough of the more complex builds at some stage.

I was always going to get the Micra after building its K12 cousin end of last year (see signature :)) but the Stagea has appealed for a while and, at under £20, was the right price.

I like the look of that, have to admit I'd never heard of the car though! :)

I added the Revell version to my stash a short while ago, also for ridiculously little money.  I wonder if old 'Vettes are going out of fashion.

Model Vettes don't seem to come up too often on the bay, Mustangs, however, are very common.

In the real world though you could be right. There seem to be lots of resto mods or rebuilds to stock on TV and on line but not on Corvettes.

But then good fibre glass repair seems to be a specialised subject in the States nowadays. Whereas metal panels are plentiful and less difficult to work with.

Or is it just a health and safety issue with GRP dust? Yet they are happy to sand down filler all day long.

A recent post on the tube by Dennis Collins had half a dozen 'Vettes up for sale. All to an excellent standard and it shows the test drives with LOTS of power!

Turn the volume up to eleven!

I've got the AMT 1/25th 1970 kit in the stash that I got when I was on hol in the states years ago

Don't know why I bought it though as I very very rarely build road cars as they don't really interest me

But at least the box is stopping the dust from settling on the shelf it is sitting on 🤣

I know what you mean about the looks, even in the standard version there's something about a big estate which has always appealed to me. Then add the Autech extras and it appeals even more.

And that's not even the best bit - in the Autech version most of the oily bits are taken from an R33 Skyline GTR 😁 If you want to see a bit more about it, this may fill in a few gaps:

Such a shame the kit is curbside in that respect...

Hi everyone, joining in and posting after many months following this great community.

My current kits, more on the way. Currently working on the VW van (fiddly kit!), trying to stick to the order I got them but the temptation to go astray I and get distracted with the other kits is big… :)

Nice, eclectic start to your auto collection. Welcome to active service! Next step is to post your WIP 😉

Remembering (I think it was) Anteater's build of this one, I find myself asking the question "Do they not like you?" 😄
