What CAR/BIKE kits have you recently bought 2?

The Aoshima re-release also includes some PE badging which wasn't in the Airfix re-boxing from a while back.  That Airfix release includes both bumper options, & all tonneau / hood parts but just the wire wheels.  The 1:1 rubber bumper version had a higher ride height due to US Federal regs, but the kit doesn't differentiate on this.  However from memory the standard chassis into body fitment is more remeniscient of the higher ride height, but with care the chassis can be installed slightly higher up in the body (due to how it clips in), and so also better represent the earlier, lower ride height too, but I don't recall there being any mention of this in the instructions.  TBH, I'm tempted to build mine with the rubber bumpers, Rostyles and add a front chin spoiler as fitted to many in period (might have been a pukka BL optional part given how many I have seen like that but I'm not an MGB expert) as a contrast to the my earlier one.

If it's of interest, there's more info on the difference between the Aoshima in this review video that I found online prior to buying the kit:

Thanks for the info Paul, I'll have a watch of the video later. Sorely tempted by the rubber bumper kit, but I really should resist, as I've still got one of the original Aoshima rally versions untouched in the stash - where its been for a goodly number of years!!

I got myself one of these. I had the AMT Van kit years ago and sold it, regrettably, so I snapped this up and it's even in the better scale of 1/24. It will be getting the Motobitz Independent front & rear suspension sets along with the custom wheels too. I also bought some new Tamiya lacquer paint in Met Gold but as yet I'm undecided on the final colour scheme, but definitely not as the box art!

I've used the Tamiya laquer paints on my last couple of build's and they spray great using the LP thinner/retarder mixed 50/50.

Seeing as they were on offer on Ebay from a dealer at £11.92 each including P&P it would have been rude of me not to get a couple, I think I'll build one in white as with kit decals and get some Total decals and do a silver one at some point :)

I've acquired a number of items recently , many of them from Model Hobbies via Ebay since they keep offering things at ridiculously cheap prices .  From them I've had a 1/24 Aoshima MGB , 1/12 Aoshima CB750F Bol D'Or 2 , 1/24 Tamiya Honda NSX , 1/24 Revell 1970 AAR Cuda , 1/24 Revell 1968 Chevelle , 1/24 Revell 1953 Corvette , 1/24 Revell 1956 Chevy Custom , 1/24 Tamiya Alpine Renault A110 .

In addition to these , I've also had a 1/24 Belkits Mk1 Escort via a trade on here with 100SQN & a 1/32 MPC (Airfix repop) Mk1 Capri from Ebay .

Being the owner of a real one, I'm always on the look-out for an Aoshima (I think) Mitsubishi Legnum; I see them around very rarely, but they do exist! Hope it's OK to pop this here!!

Another Galant fan (I knew I couldn't be the only one) - I've just bought the Hasegawa VR-4 road kit (for the 89/90 version), to model on the GTI version I once owned and sorely miss (it had everything on the VR-4 : 4wd, 4ws, etc. just not the turbo or the bonnet vents), that was as rare as hen's teeth too in the UK, I don't think I've ever seen another. I've also got the Hasegawa Swedish Rally model of the same car. Go grab the kit and maybe we can do some kind of Galant buddy build?

Oh I've also bought the Fujumi Nissan Silvia S14 Veilside kit, I'm planning on dropping the Veilside parts and just going for a standard version (pre-facelift), seems the basic kit isn't in production anymore but this one seems to have all the parts on the sprues, again to model on a car I once had (200SX in the UK). That thing isn't as sorely missed however - it did have a turbo, but no traction control which with a car built for drifting and wet, twisty Yorkshire roads was pretty much a lethal combination - I swear it would often try and catch me out and try to kill me!

I think I may have mentioned this one before. Still, it's so beautiful, it needs to be show again :)

I really like the look of those Tamiya Historic series cars, looks like a coupel of good purchases for you with those. My wallet wouldn't thank me, but I hope Tamiya re-release some of these in the same way that they are re-releasing some of the Sports Car series.

Finally got round to getting one of these as I've seen the great reviews of the kit.

Made even better as it was a bargain from MJR :)

Plenty of aftermarket decal options as well to choose if you don't fancy the silver
