What CAR/BIKE kits have you recently bought 2?

Just received very quickly from Spain with Spot Model's usual excellent service, a Beemax BMW M3 complete with their 'detail up' set (needed for the missing 'Bastos' cigarette decals, same as @Scarlet mentions with the quattro HB decs ) and an Italeri Renault 5 Alpine which looks a nice little kit given its age. Also some bits and pieces - Beemax detail set for the Portugal rally TA64 Celica, a decal sheet & Renaissance p.e. set for the Hasegawa Lancia Super Delta I've had in stock for eons, a Scale Design Lotus Twin Cam engine set for the Belkits Mk1 Escort (always wanted a Mk1 Twink, couldn't afford one back in the day, certainly can't now so this is the nearest I'll ever get!) and the clear sprue from the Belkits Mk1 for a resin narrow body shell I have. The Spot Model spare parts service is really useful for stuff like this!

And because I ordered on Cyber Monday they threw in a free copy of the Komaki M3 reference book - result!

1/24 scale Lightweight Land Rover from kit form services. I’m not really a vehicle modeller but I saw this and had to have it. I also bought the 1/24 Bloodhound which looks absolutely top draw quality resin.

As I had a £10 Amazon voucher just sitting there, I had to have a look around, and found this hiding in the Warehouse Deals for just a fiver on top of that:

Wierdly, the warehouse doing the deal was in Marseille so quite a wait for it to turn up. The box is a bit battered, but the kit inside seems ok, and as far as I can tell everything is in there even though the box has been opened. But... it does seem to have been packed by the work experience kid, someone who can't count, or someone who was seriously disgruntled at the bankruptcy earlier this year. There are 5 tyres in there as there should be, but four in a pack and one loose as if it was an afterthought. To add to that, there are two chrome sprues, so at least I have spares if I break something. And as an added bonus, there is a random sprue J which doesn't appear in the instructions, but appears to be a different floor and seats so I assume that has come from the Samba Van. Needless to say I had a very careful check of the parts after finding that one... :)

Hi all,

After splurging out for everyone else this festive period, thought I'd get one last present for myself... Got quite lucky with this combo which worked out to a little over £42. Strange in some ways to think these kits (and the real bikes) are over 17 years old, I can remember watching the 2001 season on the TV.

I Doubt you bought a 1/24 Scale Bloodhound as they haven't made a kit of it. Their missile kit is a Thunderbird Mk 2 which was a completely different missile built by a completely different compony.

I'm not sure what I was thinking but I picked up the Falken BMW M6 kit with the corresponding detail set.

Looks like it should be a nice kit at least.

Wow, I'd seen them racing but!

My son's have built a number of these Zvezda kits. They're nicely detailed for the scale and go together well. Sadly, they don't last long in the hands of a 5 year old.

Ah well, it was the Bullitt Mustang that stole my heart aged about 16, rather than the Charger.

Never mind, I did find this for you guys as a peace offering

@chrisrope Are you sure it's not an obsession?

Go for it, Mate!

Probably :D

69 Charger is my personal favourite too. You can blame them dang Duke boys for starting it but, reading deeper, it has something over the rest.

There’s many fine Challengers, Mustangs, GTOs and Camaros out there but the 68-70 Charger is definitely the boss.

I found this at my LHS today.

It's not quite a Grail kit for me but definitely one that I've kept my eye out for. It was about a 1/3 of what they go for on eBay so I'm happy. The LHS must have gotten a collection in recently as there was a number of old Otaki 1/12 car kits in for a decent price.
