What CAR/BIKE kits have you recently bought 2?

Chris,

I remember reading somewhere (Probably a previous build?) that they used several

different cars (obviously) for the special effects and there were subtle

differences between some of them.

(That's probably given you even more to do. Sorry)

Aye, bit of a minefield for accuracy, this and the General :/

I’ll probably just aim for ‘Hero Car’ status, clean, shiny and instantly recognisable

Purchased a Porsche C-GT with zero paints sternrubin paint. Just need to make some svipe logos and another build will be ready to start.

Applause for anyone who knows the inspiration for this build.

Close but not quite. From what I know of there are very few sturnrubin C-GTs in the world but the one I am going to replicate is being painted in real life now for the LA Autoshow.

Also a couple more purchases over the weekend.

Aoshima McLaren F1 gtr

Scale motorsport f1 gtr full carbon jacket set from hiroboy.

Fujimi McLaren mp4/5 and fujimi McLaren mp4/12c gt3 from plazajapan in the Blackweek sale

Have a pair of f1 gtr's on my wishlist on hiroboy, heard good things about them, plus it would be rude not to use up the gulf colours I have I stock lol :)

If you are making a gulf f1gtr or davidoff lemans version then you should get some clear pearl tinter from hiroboy also just so the blue is near enough the right blue. Also i can only vouch for the Aoshima f1gtr but they are just perfect, the right amount of stock details but with plenty of room to add to them.

No kits, but just ordered a set of Mk1 Escort RS2000 stripe masks & one of the generic Escort decal sets from Mark at MotoBitz. Finally made a start on one of the real 1:1 Escort rally cars I had back in the dark ages!

More to add to the payday list of things to buy lol, is the gulf blue that zero do not quite correct for the scheme then?

From what I've been told the McLaren blue is lighter than 917/gt gulf blue and the Aston gulf blue isn't right either, So 917 gulf blue with pearl tinter is about right. I have done a quick test of it a few months ago on some scrap plastic and it looked near enough spot on.

DPD have just the knocked the door with a package 😁

Few other items came along with this, although Mika behind didn't come in the box he was just being nosey haha :)

Kit and detail pack have now been packed away for Christmas day but from a quick look it looks to be a tidy kit :)

Rest of the stuff in the box, should keep me busy, proper transfers for the tamiya mp4/4 plus the paint, the mask as the the one I had previously really wasn't up to the job with the zero paints. But all in all not a bad haul 😁

Ok! I'll join in as I've just bought my first batch of car models (well, for the first time since buying a Matchbox 1/32 MG back in 1984) I usually build wingy stuff, but I have a project in mind that's been rattling around my mind for a few years. So, in 1/24 (and a couple in 1/25) I've just picked up the following;

Revell Golf GTi Mk I

Hasegawa Nissan Sunny truck

AMT Escort XR3i

Matchbox (Revell) Escort XR3i

Aoshima Nissan Cedric HT2000

Italeri Escort Mk 2

Italeri Transit x 3 plus one long wheelbase conversion kit from Motobitz. A superb resin set for the money and highly recommended if you don't have one. I will be buying more!

On the starting blocks on the bench...Revell Routemaster about to be hacked up to make an RM from the RML

On the want list. The new Hasegawa Honda Civic RS, Revell Golf GTi Mk 2, Tamiya 2CV and more Transits.....I can't get enough Transits!

Best regards;

Steve

I haven’t quite finished the Tamiya Porsche GT1 yet, but I couldn’t resist purchasing the Revell Porsche 918 Spyder, complete with aftermarket resin wheels and decal sheet.

Hopefully by the time I’ve done with it, it’ll turn out something like this:

Picked up the FW14b and the MP4/6 from eBay for a reasonable price.

I will wait till the new year and start buying detail sets for these bit by bit so it doesn't hurt my wallet too much...

Tamiya's Austin Cooper Mini and Lotus Seven kits just lobbed on my doorstep. I've built them both before, but at the price they were offered at, I couldn't resist. The Mini is an especially nice little kit, despite its age.

Hey Matt remember you were asking about the blue for the 97 lm f1 gtr. Well zero paints just released a set of paints for the blue and orange colour.

I’ve just bagged myself the Airfix 1/32 DBR9/XKR GT3 set on eBay for a bargain price. At less than £12 I couldn’t resist, and the box is still sealed, happy days!

Just picked up the Revell Aspen Dental / Danica Patrick race car. Comes with driver figure but is a generic figure. Will have to modify it to more represent Danica's petite form
