Guilherme Kosciuv
Hello, This is my first entry, i´m joinining this GB with the Revell A330-300 in the Etihad Visit Abu Dhabi scheme. I´ll be using Gio and Authentic decals . This is the box i´m building. Mine came without decals: Decals: Starter by painting the interior and wheel bay: And closed the fuselage halves:
Romeo Alpha Yankee
Nice you could join us Guilherme, have started a few of these kits I see you have the fuselage plate pretty much sorted. Do you know what colour you will use for the fuselage?
Guilherme Kosciuv
Nice you could join us Guilherme, have started a few of these kits I see you have the fuselage plate pretty much sorted. Do you know what colour you will use for the fuselage? Hello, I have a metallic purple automotive color that i think is perfect for this plane. Now with wings:
Guilherme Kosciuv
Painted the wing and engine pylons light gray, the leading edge slats and intake lips aluminium and masked for the fuselage painting. The corroguard will be reproduced with decal after the paint job is finished. Color testing: After the first layer applied, the fuselage opened up on top, so i had to glue it again and sand:
Graeme H
Always nice to see someone do an A330, and the scheme is fantastic, like your purple, even more interesting is that you have actual possesion of a Gio decal set, good for you

Guilherme Kosciuv
Decal time! With Authentic Airliners cockpit windows. This Gio set is beautiful but a paint to apply, different to the older ones it is thin and crack when moving.
POTKC
How...how are you building it so fast? Wow!
Romeo Alpha Yankee
Lovely shade of purple Guilherme, decals are looking good. I have used an older Gio sheet some years ago and at the time they were a lot thicker.
tomprobert
Looking great - especially that purple! Was the original not a -200 series? Tom
Romeo Alpha Yankee
Could have been Tom, A6-AFA is a -300. Since the Etihad -300 are RR Trent powered are you using aftermarket engines? From the look of you engines in the background of one of your pictures they look 'Trentish' to me.
Guilherme Kosciuv
Thank you. That´s correct, it´s an A330-300. I´m using a Braz RR set.

Guilherme Kosciuv
Thank you! I had to get back to work so this build was stopped for some weeks. Now i applied a gloss coat, automotive varnish. Then sanded everything, preparing to polish.

FortyEighter
Fantastic work Guilherme. The windows look really authentic - I guess it took some patience to put Klear in each one Mike
