Victory-is-in-the-Kitchen
Well it's finished(!) one Jaguar GR.1 by Italeri in 1/72 scale with Pavla cockpit and ejection seat. Minor modifications made from bored out rear vents to custom nose cone using clear plastic. Primed with Humbrol acrylic grey undercoat from a spray can, followed by Tamiya paints, Humbrol Clear and Vallejo Matt Varnish after decals and weathering (oil paint wash with turp substitute). WIP here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235007242-jaguar-gr1-172-italeri-operation-granby/#entry2466792 Comments welcome as always and I hope you enjoy the pictures. Phone Phixer
Fantastic work. Great chipping on the worn ARTF paint finish. Can't say I'm impressed with Italeri's efforts on the kit.

Victory-is-in-the-Kitchen
That's a great looking Jaguar, and I love the paint chipping. Thanks - my first attempt. Used Humbrol Maskol after giving the model the base colour I wanted. I have a P-38J to do (Col. Olds Scat II) in army drab so will definitely be applying a similar technique then. Very nice! Gramercy! Nice - the Jag looks great in this scheme. Cheers, Michael I agree - was tempted by the snow camo but pleased I did this. Can always do a Russian or Luftwaffe aircraft in snow. Fantastic work. Great chipping on the worn ARTF paint finish. Can't say I'm impressed with Italeri's efforts on the kit. Thank you. I really struggled initially not just with the accuracy when looking at the real thing, but with poorly aligning moulds, flash and general awkwardness... Come on Airfix, do another! That's come out good! I have one of these I've been researching the build on. Nice bits of chipping, subtle. Thanks. I bookmarked these for reference, hope they're of use to you: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/70916-sepecat-jaguar-gr1-gr3/ http://www.howitflies.com/aircraft_photo_gallery/3802 Nice Kitty! Phantome
Great work, especially the chipping. The Italeri is a dog of a kit at times but doesn't look that bad when finished.
