Snap, crackle and pop a Friedrich *done in 13 hours*

Tomorrow I will try to build my 1:72 scale Zvezda Bf 109 F-2. As I have commitments to family both tomorrow and even more at Sunday, I'll have to try to do it today in one 24 hour period. Forget JG 53 in RLM 74/75/76 and bring in the all white JG 54 option supplied in the kit - luckily that scheme covers all stencils too ๐Ÿ˜…. Clock will be supplied by my camera ๐Ÿ“ท. No pics before Sunday evening, earliest.

Started this morning at about 6.30, later found out my camera isn't in DST so it'll show me starting even an hour earlier.

The Friedrich is assembled except exhausts and ready to head for the painter - since that's me too it'll be a short journey. I'm having a break and wonder if I should do the Sicilian bird anyway? Does it take more time to brush paint a 74/75/76 camo without excessive masking than it takes to mask and shoot the plane with a rattle can? Well we'll see ๐Ÿ˜‰

I think we'll get a lot single colour models out of this. I've already gone from RAF three tone camo to FAA EDSG over sky which will be much easier.

Main camo colours + yellow are on. Green for prop and spinner base, white fuselage band and mottling to go next! Went shopping for groceries while Fritz is drying his skin. Swmbo has been remarkably calm, so far...

Tadaa I'm finished! Though I skipped adding any stencils... I'll update this thread with build pics and add something in the gallery too ๐Ÿ˜Š.

When's the next Blitz Build GB and where can I sign in!?

Thank you all and it was both a pleasure and an honour to participate! Now that I know what this Blitzbuild really is all about, by reading through your excellent build threads, I can adjust my attitude a bit the next time Iยดm doing this. More focus on clocks, food and fun  . Regards, V-P

Hi,

This is a great kit and beautiful model!

I rank this high when compared to other available later generation Bf 109's with FineMolds kits. AZ are more tricky to built and front fuselage in early Gustavs leaves lot to desire. Not worth the trouble to shorten in length and add height - been there, done that.

Cheers,

AaCee
