Hockeyboy76
Just bagging my place here for this build, & what cracking idea it is.I have chosen Revells Tie Interceptor for my entry. At a whopping 19 pieces the 24hrs may not seem like too much of a challenge, but it is a GP weekend so will be glued to the tele box for most of it.Photos to follow. Enzo the Magnificent
Excellent choice. Oh, and while you're watching the GP, make sure you drink some of your avatar.
Hockeyboy76
Box shots & kit laid out in man cave ready to start tomorrow As you can see it's not the pre-painted version so plenty of scope for painting & weathering.
Hockeyboy76
STARTED at 1115. Unsure yet if this will be a single 24 hrs or split into the 2 12hr shifts. Need to fit this in around Spa GP.

Hockeyboy76
So after a 2 1/2hr break for quali, it's time to crack on. Primer should be dry, time to start detailing the cockpit.
Hockeyboy76
Update at 2036. Wings painted, just need to detail & weather them. Cockpit buttoned up & fuse joined. And here is the pit detail, never to be seen again. I thought the joystick/control yoke looked bare so added a decal from the spares I washed the pilot with some light gray Flory wash but still thought he needed some more colour. So he got a Red stripe on his helmet. ready to join top fuse Finally the wings before I added the silver around the solar panels. Enzo the Magnificent
What an excellent result! The only downside is that now I wanna build one and I have far to many obsessions as things stand!
Hockeyboy76
Thanks for the kind comments guys. Much appreciated. What an excellent result! :thumbsup:The only downside is that now I wanna build one and I have far to many obsessions as things stand! You can see its origins as a snap together kit, but it is actually a pretty decent kit, cheap too.

nimrod54
Hey buddy, I hadn't realised that you had entered this GB. I have a lot of admiration for anyone who can build so quickly and to such a high standard. What a great build and a fantastic result.
Hockeyboy76
Cheers John. I'm still not sure how I managed this one in under 24hrs but struggling to complete a 747 egg plane.
