He-70G Rolls Royce engine testbed

Hi!

I have been researching this airplane for some time with no success. Just some small pictures in the internet.

Do you know of a good drawing of the plane? I´d like to convert one of my old Matchbox Blitzes.

Cheers,

Lúcio

Hi, Lúcio

Vacuform conversion use to be on the market for Rolls-Royce He 70, but I am not sure, whether it is still available today. It was a part of several different AM vacuform engines for that kit. Actually I still have it somewhere as Kestrel powered He 70 appeals to me, too. Cheers

Hi, Britman

Some six or seven years ago a Dragon's Ta 152 H-1 in 1/48, until then quite tame and well-behaved, somehow turned into stealth fighter and is being evading detection ever since. I am thinking about installing a plastic detection equivalent of both Home Chains long-wave radars, as traditional methods, like opening all the boxes and checking their contents proved useless. Any at least semi-rational explanation of such phenomena would be most welcome. Cheers

I currently have an XActo knife AWOL in my stash. I did find the "full size" diagonal cutters, thank goodness. And recently, in with "the rest of the parts" for a chop and swap conversion I found two bottles of paint, a pin vise, and a large-ish razor saw. But most worrying, perhaps, are the three Airfix 1/48 Seafire 47s and two (of 3) Spit 22s. No matter, just the excuse I needed to buy a couple more...

bob

p.s. I should point out that I, too, would like to do this particular He 70.

Classic Plane still lists it in their catalogue, but it is a full resin kit including decals from my understanding:

CPR 30 - Heinkel He.70 G ( british RR-Kestrel engined) - €19,95

Check the German shop Modellbau Studio Rhein Ruhr:

http://www.classic-plane-mrr.de/

You will have to send the owner Detlef Schorsch an e-mail to order. It is a small bricks and motar shop with limited opening hours and a very rudimentary website but very trustworthy.

Hi!

Missing kits do surface occasionally. Few months ago Hasegawa/Italeri Bell 206 in 1/48 appeared after hiding skilfully for some three years. It turned out that I put it into C-119 box to save storage space and then forgot about it. With a bit of luck the same will happen with missing He 70 kit and the old Kestrel conversion. Cheers

Herr ^^ Schulze you're much too harsh on Herr Schorsch, he went through a lot of bad luck last year (health problems, water burst in his house ... etc).

He's an idealist who puts much work in providing a small specialist model shop to the interested people.

One should be able understand and tolerate delays from a small business, I sometimes too had to phone him twice but in the end he always delivered the ordered goods.

I have bought from Detlef on a couple of occasions though not since he had his various issues. I did have to send a "nudging" email but other than that I found him obliging & friendly. I will use him again. Very likely for one of these kits, though he has several other bits & bobs I'm keen on.

Nice shot Chris, better than anything I found on the net, now if you've got a front three quarter angle too........ :)  I wonder how hard it would be to scratch the front of this onto one of the old MB/Revell ones?

It's a smashing pic. I am somewhat bemused, though, as P. St. John Turner is surely the only person ever to  believe that Hucknall (now sadly closed as of last year) was ever in Yorkshire!

Hucknall closed down :o !

Another once thriving town becomes a ghost town. :tumble:

No wonder I haven't heard from my auntie in a while  .

I wonder where she moved to? Is Mansfield still open  ?

All the best

Hello Lùcio,

I knew I had it somewhere.

The Airmodel vac form kit.

Yesterday I used a scanning app on the iPhone, on the one page (printed both sides) plan sheet. I hope this helps.

Bringing back to life an old thread!

Thanks for the informations. I even found an Airmodel kit in eBay!

But wait: Classic Plane have a new Kestrel-powered He-70 listed, this time using the ICM kit as basis. I think I will have a go at this one.

In the meantime, another picture. From Flight magazine.

I bought Revell/ICM He 70 and this kit set, as far as surface details are concerned, new standards for quality. I think this had been debated somewhere on Britmodeller, but I cannot recall the topic title.

Here, maybe:
