With not being to well(again) this is only the 2nd build for me this year and although a tad expensive it looks worth while.Iv chosen the harrier over the tornado on the simple basis it was there in the museums shop and i would rather put money into a good cause (the museums) than to fill someones pockets A cracking morning at NELSAM at Sunderlands tram and transport day with the grandson who could only say wow to all the museums collections.(gobsmacked was a apt discription when he saw the full vertion Avro Vulcan) i have asked about the color of the pilots flight gear and have already had some imput.but no doubt i will be needing more info in due cause. For now all iv done is opened the box and sorted a few parts for the pilot and cockpit, but will be having a go at painting in the morning..OH and could someone remind me how to put a photo up ,iv only went and forgot how to do it again.

Looking forward to this, I do like the big Harrier kit!

Go to your image at flickr, to the lower right of the image there is a 'star', 'right arrow', and 'downward arrow' icon.

Click the 'right arrow', and you should have a 'share 1 photo to:' box, click 'BB Code' and highlight the main text (maybe already highlighted), right click and 'copy', then paste into your post here. There will be a choice of sizes under this text box, believe 'Medium 800x533' is best for the forum

He still needs a bit of touching up but thats for the morning.

Cockpit not doing so well as even i cant stop the drugs which causes the shakes (legal stuff)so its a bit hit n miss with all the fine detail, but then if your looking that closely when its done GET OUT OF MY BEDROOM, :banghead:

Righty ho gents bit of a, oh i dont know.Im building this striaght outa the box and came to items 20-21, i take it there the wheel doors .following the instructions i noticed the hinges(part 63-65)to be of different lenths and when you look down on them one side seems short and the other long.I will call this A.

Question is ,is this the correct way or have i somehow not followed the instructions correctly.
This 2nd photo is if they are changed around and that looks more correct.I will call this B.

So gents the question stands .Is the answer A, or B

Managed to get some more of the harrier glued together.Straight outa the box was not going to work so iv found away of getting the engine in and lined up, and hopefully get it glued into place tommorow along with sanding the seam as theres a few gaps..The part of the Engine that was on top has had to come off and some taken off the bottom so it will fit in the engine bay and not hit the engine cover .

Well thats the 1/24 f3 harrier finished, enjoyed the build even though at times(like something small would keep falling off)it drove me bananas.Paint went on by hand as i still cant spray for love nor money, but im pleased with the results.decals were a pain some are to small to handle and were litteraly falling to bits as you slid them off the backing.Big OH the pilot has went awol.????? Took all the bits that needed laquered into the shed including the little man and when i went to fit him in the cockpit this morning ,hes done a disappearing act on me,turned over the shed, kitchen, cupboard, bins and still no sign of him???????(wot?)Oh well onwards and upwards, next project the handley page victor.( has anyone a camo paint scheme for this)

Smashing job! I know modelling isn't the best hobby to have when you have ailments that seem to prevent you from ever trying to build, but you've proven that you can still build to a high quality, and hopefully you had fun too along the way.

I wouldnt say high quality ,not a lot of the finish is accurate but thanks for the kind remarks.

I do like wraparound

1 thing though the tailplane appear to be upside down

Lovely finish I keep away from mine because of basic seat and the cost of the aftermarket bits but after seeing yours I may reconsider building it.

Rodders

Sorry rodders i havent a clue what you mean. Its as the instuctions .

Lovely build, but Rodders is right. The horizontal stabalisers (rear wings) are on the wrong way around, they should slope quite sharply down. All you need to do is put the left one on the right and the right one one the left. You may have to respray them to match the cammo though.
