It looks pink here but its orange...honest! I think the white balance might need adjustment. Colin

Colin W
OK Decals done over the weekend Here are the decals printed. Two sheets one clear film for the AIR FORCE title and serial number, the other on white for the orange writing on the nose. Decals applied now so only the doors to fit and the fuselage aerials to build. Colin

abat
Great work. I'm interested in you decal printing too. The orange really sets it off.
Colin W
Hi Decal printing is the easiest thing out. i print on an inkjet onto standard decal paper. A few airbrushed coats of Future and apply as normal. The decals are a bit thick by modern standards but are more than acceptable. Loads of comapnies sell decal paper today but the material I use came from Bel Inc in the USA. Its more than 10 years old but packs of 20 A4 sheets last a while. Colin W
Hi Yes Peter, then plan is to copy the picture. I need a 1/48 Hercules but fortunately here's one I made earlier. I even got the right registration! Colin
Colin W
Well I've added the final bits to the model. The side aerials went along both sides but the kit only gives aerial poles for 1? Anyway all are replaced with brass rod and rigged with Ezee-line. The tail aerial was replaced with a carbon fibre rod. I've posted the final model pics and the loading/unloading image on the Gallery page. Here are a few more pictures. I don't have any figures dressed in Antarctic survival gear so used artistic licence to show a frosty morning at Christchurch airport depicting the loading rather than unloading. I also dont have a big enough base to photograph a 1/48 Hercules diorama so assumed the sun has warmed the ranges in the background. Peters' mate 'Mike' cleaning the windscreen in Christchurch before departure for Antarctica. The loading crew Another good Group Build, many thanks to the Mods for organising, I can now sit back and enjoy the others coming along. modelling minion
A fantastic result Colin, she looks really good. Lucky you had a 1/48 Herc in the right markings just hanging around waiting to be used. She looks great being loaded inside. A superb build all round, very well done. Craig.
